Ric Flair Talks Being Back With WWE, Not Being A Fan Of The Cruiserweights, Charlotte Vs. Sasha
On episode 22 of The Ric Flair Show, two-time WWE Hall Of Famer Ric Flair talked about his current status with WWE, his daughter, Charlotte's match against Sasha Banks for the WWE RAW Women's Championship on Monday Night RAW, and, also, Flair shared his thoughts on WWE's cruiserweight division.
Flair divulged that he is back on WWE TV now. Also, 'The Nature Boy' said that Charlotte and Sasha Banks keep raising the bar. 'Naitch' also said that he wishes he could live long enough to induct Charlotte into the WWE Hall Of Fame.
"Well, I think I'm back on TV now. It hasn't happened officially, but as I told [Charlotte], it's not about winning and losing, it's about having the greatest match and every time they work, the bar goes up. They had the greatest match I've ever seen in my [life]. I mean, it was so real. I mean, the kendo stick. I'm so proud of both of them. Of course, I'm partial to [Charlotte] because she is my daughter. But, God, Sasha took it too, boy. They did it. And the big thing that I thought was great, on the moonsault, I'm saying this to you, Sasha Banks, if you hear me, it's a big deal to catch [Charlotte] on that moonsault because if she doesn't, she crashes. That is a cement floor. That wasn't a mat. So, what's her name, I mean, Sasha took the bump, took the hit. I mean, it was unbelievable. I was so proud to be there, so honored to be in my hometown. I got to go out at the end and I thought, once again, the women's division with Charlotte, Ashley, my daughter, Sasha, the bar has been raised so high." Flair added, "I want to live long enough to induct her into the Hall Of Fame. She is in such a great place."
While Flair stated that he respects the cruiserweights, he claimed he is not interested in watching them. Moreover, the 16-time world champion posited that Charlotte is a better athlete than the Superstars of WWE Network's 205 Live.
"I hate to say it, I have so much respect for the cruiserweights as athletes, but it's not what I'm looking for. It's not what I look for to watch. I just feel like, first of all, [Charlotte] is a better athlete than the cruiserweights. Does that make sense? The cruiserweights are great, they're athletic, really nice guys, but they can't have a match better than Sasha and Charlotte."
