Ric Flair Thinks Dolph Ziggler Is Leaving WWE; Talks What's Next, Ziggler Not Getting His Just Due
Recently on The Ric Flair Show, two-time WWE Hall Of Famer Ric Flair weighed in on Dolph Ziggler's rumored imminent departure from WWE. 'The Dirtiest Player In The Game' claimed that WWE hopes the former WWE Intercontinental Champion will stay with the company and work behind-the-scenes. Also, Flair stated that Ziggler has never gotten his due in WWE.
According to Flair, he has heard the talk that Ziggler will leave WWE following WWE No Mercy, but WWE wants 'The Show Off' to work in the office. Flair went on to say that he hopes Ziggler will stay with the company.
"Well, I've heard that, but I hope it's not true. He has too much left to offer to the business, and I think, I hope I'm not letting the cat out of the bag, I think they want him to work in the office. But he loves Phoenix [Arizona] and I don't know that that will happen, but he [has] got, he can be with the company as long as he wants to be. He's that good. He's that a nice guy and he's that highly thought of, so he's in a good place."
Flair continued, "I think he's still very much part of the roster and I like seeing him on TV, so I hope he doesn't walk away from it this early. But if he does, I'm sure he [has] done well with his money. He [has] made a lot of money, so he'll be okay."
Co-host Conrad Thompson asked Flair whether he thought Ziggler ever got his just due in WWE and 'The Nature Boy' responded in the negative.
"No. I think he's really a lot more talented than he [has] had a chance to show. He has a chance to show it, but it doesn't seem to be consistent. It's one week on, one week off for Dolph. And that's the way it [has] been for two or three years for him."
Flair added, "I think Dolph has just, I think he has so much ability and he [has] been there a long time. People forget. He [has] had a great run and a great career, but he's still young, he looks like a million bucks, and I hope he stays longer."
When asked who are some other performers who have not gotten their just due in the professional wrestling business, 'Naitch' named 'The Enforcer' Arn Anderson.
"Well, my favorite of all time, the guy I bring up all the time that never got his due was Arn Anderson. And there've been other guys, I mean, Barry Windham. I'm trying to think in recent times. I haven't followed as close. I've been watching every week with Charlotte being on, obviously, and watching Sasha [Banks] and all the guys, and Roman [Reigns].
