Triple H Personally Called CWC Contestant
Japanese wrestling reporter Enuhito noted that Kota Ibushi, who is one of the participants in the WWE Cruiserweight Classic, was interviewed by Pro Wrestling Weekly Magazine and talked about getting signed by WWE.
As we recently reported, Finn Balor first contacted Ibushi and asked if he could pass along his number to NXT head trainer Matt Bloom, and Ibushi said "yes." WWE then made an offer, which Ibushi turned down to focus on another project.
Ibushi then got a call from an unknown number, which turned out to be Triple H. Triple H said "Moshi Moshi," which is used in Japanese when answering a phone to say hello. They spoke, and WWE was really interested in signing Ibushi, which led to him signing.
Ibushi faced Sean Maluta at the Cruiserweight Classic tapings this week in what was said to have been an "awesome match." Full results from the Cruiserweight Classic tapings are here.
