New Head Writer For WWE NXT Revealed, How Many Interviews Did He Have?, Cruiserweight Classic
Longtime wrestling fan and former Tampa Tribune writer Joe Belcastro is now the new head writer for WWE NXT, working under Triple H. He was also involved with the pilot of the NXT Kids show filmed a few months back.
Belcastro is replacing Ryan Ward, who was praised for his work with NXT. Ward is now focusing on writing for RAW and SmackDown. Belcastro originally approached WWE for a job after graduating college in 2008 but was turned down. In addition to writing for the newspaper, he wrote movie reviews for entertainment websites. A friend with a WWE connection got him a second interview in 2013 and he was hired, even though he had never written a TV script in his life.
Belcastro is also working with Triple H on The Cruiserweight Classic that begins next month.
