TNA Impact Wrestling Results: New Champion Crowned On Pop TV Debut, Major Returns, Debuts, KOs, More
Welcome to our WrestlingINC.com Live Debut Impact Viewing Party on Pop TV. We will be providing live ongoing coverage of tonight's show, while you all can chime in with your thoughts throughout the show.
Impact on Pop TV opens with Dixie Carter talking about the world title series. Ethan Carter and Tyrus appear. Carter wants to air his annoyances. He accuses Dixie of being jealous of his success. Dixie says he has turned into a complete monster.
Matt Hardy interrupts and tells Carter he's not afraid of him and sees through him. He vows to win the title on tonight's show. Young shows up and attacks him. Carter, Tyrus and Young beat up Matt. Bobby Lashley appears and makes the save. A brawl ensues and Matt sends Young and Carter running.
Bobby Lashley vs. Ethan Carter III
Lashley came out strong early, going for the spear. Tyrus took shots at Lashley and body-slammed him with Ethan distracted the official. Carter going for the headlock. Tyrus continues to go after Lashley. Lashley tried to make a comeback, but Carter gets the win with a roll up and the tights. Ethan's going to the final. Decent match but the whole ending came off as a bit anti-climatic.
Winner: Ethan Carter
Bobby Roode cuts a promo and talks about his open challenge. He says he's going to prove himself tonight. Kurt Angle is about to make his debut on Pop TV.
Angle arrives and talks about his upcoming farewell tour. He thanks the fans for their support through the years. He calls it an honor. The crowd chant "One More Match." Angle mentions all the people he's faced in his legendary career,name-dropping several WWE names. He wants to face Galloway next week. Galloway comes out to the ring and accepts the challenge. He says it's a privilege for Kurt to choose him. Godderz interrupts. He says he deserves the match and he's the future of TNA. Eli Drake interrupts and says it's actually him who's the bigger star. Galloway and Angle get tired of their nonsense. They fight Godderz and Drake and send them flying outside the ring. The fans cheer.
Jeremy Borash talks to Jeff Hardy. He says Matt will win the belt. Jeff's face-paint is ridiculous, especially since he's apparently not performing tonight or anything.
Eric Young comes out. He says Hardy is finished and he is going to the finals of the world title series He wants the ref to count Matt out, but Matt shows up and the match is now on.
A promo for "The Miracle" airs.
Matt Hardy vs. Eric Young
Hardy won with the Twist of Fate. At one point, Young piledrove Matt on the floor, which was a great spot. Jeff came out to check on his brother and Young went after him too. Matt is advancing to the final!
Winner: Matt Hardy
Backstage, we see Young going crazy and trashing everything. Carter and Jeff Hardy have a tense confrontation and Jeff affirms his support for Matt. Hmmm. Heel turn coming?
Roode comes out for his KOTM challenge. Bram answers. He says "2006" is going to be his year. Um.
Bobby Roode vs. Bram
Roode retained with the Roode bomb. James Storm made the return and saved him after the match. A Beer Money reunion was teased when Storm offered him a drink.
Winner: Bobby Roode
Borash talks to Madison and Velvet. They say they're not scared of the Dollhouse. They tease their replacement for Angelina Love. Turns out it's Gail Kim.
Beer Money announce they're taking on Young and Bram at One Night Only this Friday.
Velvet Sky, Madison Rayne and Gail Kim vs. The Dollhouse
Gail Kim picked up the win for her team. Then Kong came out and attacked her. Kong is the newest Dollhouse member. Well, they did need a new leader now that Taryn's left.
Winner: The Beautiful People
Mike Bennett and ex-WWE Diva Maria Kanellis are revealed to be "The Miracle." Bennett announces he's here to save TNA. Yeah, good luck with that. Good promo, though. And it did come off as a fairly big deal.
We see clips of Matt hanging out at home.
The Wolves vs. Jessie Godderz and Eli Drake is announced for Friday.
Matt Hardy vs. Ethan Carter
Carter won the belt clean. The finish happened when Matt went for the top rope twist of fate but Ethan reversed it into the one percenter. Decent match and the the parts were they kept keeping out of each others finishers was great.
