Jon Jones Says Vitor Belfort Was On Steroids For Their Fight And The UFC Knew About It

Dominant former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones granted his first interview since being stripped of his title following a hit-and-run incident earlier this year. If you thought Jones was going to be a company man, you'd be wrong, as he eviscerated the UFC in his interview with Ariel Helwani.

"Vitor Belfort was on steroids when I fought him," Jones said 45 minutes into his interview. "The UFC was very well aware, way before the fight. They did nothing to penalize him. They let the fight go on knowing that I was fighting a guy on steroids, which is a hazard to my life. What do you do?"

Belfort had long been considered under suspicion for PED use, and has failed multiple drug tests during his UFC career. Josh Gross revealed some interesting drug test numbers in a Deadspin piece, which saw Belfort's results looking shady heading in to their UFC 151 fight.

"At his age and where he's at in his career, At the weigh ins I looked at his abs, and I'm like, 'dude I'm several years younger than you and you look way tighter than me'. And I knew I trained pretty hard for that camp," Jones said. "I hope the fans are aware of some of the shenanigans they pull," Jones said about the UFC.

Jones opens up about several other subjects, such as possibly suing the Nevada Athletic Commission, his strained relationship and more in the full interview, which you can see above.
