UFC Fighter Talks "Being Together" With Ronda Rousey, How Relationship Started
UFC Heavyweight Travis Browne has been in the public eye quite a bit lately, following allegations of domestic abuse, and the rumors of a relationship with UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey. Monday, Browne confirmed his relationship with Rousey.
"Dating is for children," Browne told Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour. "Dating is for kids. Over the summer, through all the s–t that I had to shuffle through, that I had to sift through, Ronda and I started talking throughout the summer. I'll say now that we are together. She's my woman, I'm her man. There's no boyfriend, girlfriend stuff. There's no dating. We are together."
Rumors emerged of the two dating after Browne's estranged wife Jenna Webb accused Browne of physically abusing her, then exposed the relationship, calling Ronda Rousey a hypocrite. Rousey has often criticized boxer Floyd Mayweather for his domestic abuse past.
Browne elaborated on the relationship, saying it started throughout the summer.
"Not once did we ever think about this. It wasn't even a thought that went through our heads at all. I've gotten to know her through the gym. I see her for who she is. The fact that she's out there winning ESPYS and the star she is on the movie screen and all that kind of stuff, that's all great, but that's not who I know her as. I know her as one of the hardest working athletes that I've ever seen. Through our own personal experiences of how compassionate and really how much of a sweetheart she really is. That's what a lot of people don't see out of her. They see that, but they don't really get to experience that," Browne explained.
Browne was cleared of his domestic abuse allegations by the UFC following an independent investigation. Webb claimed she would press charges, but thus far, apparently hasn't.
