Cris Cyborg And Miesha Tate Comment On Holly Holm Fighting Ronda Rousey Instead Of Them

The UFC made waves last week when the company announced that Holly Holm would be facing UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey. Previously, top-ranked Miesha Tate had been promised the bout.

Tate expressed her frustration last weekend, but opened up to TMZ Sports about the choice.

"I didn't know about it until the rest of the world ? probably after since I was still sleeping," Tate said. "The reason they are telling us it isn't happening is because Rousey vs. Holm sells more."

Even Ronda Rousey rival Cris "Cyborg" Justino was shocked by the news. Cyborg and Tate filmed a scene together this week for an upcoming movie.

"It surprised everybody," said Santos. "I don't think this is about money. If you are in line, you fight for the belt. I think Tate deserves it."

Still, Cyborg is hopeful for a potential Rousey fight herself. The two have had a war of words for several years.

"Everyone wants to see us fight," Santos said. "It is not my choice or (Rousey's) choice, but the fans' choice. I'm ready. Let's go fight."

Rousey is set to face Holly Holm at UFC 195 in January.
