- Last week's UFC on Fox saw Fight Pass prelim fighter Elizabeth Phillips experience a wardrobe malfunction of sorts during her fight with Jessamyn Duke. Top bantamweight challenger Miesha Tate said she took extra precautions to prevent it from happening to her.
"I doubled up after I saw that," Tate said to MMAJunkie Radio. "I didn't see it, but I heard about it. I was like, 'I'm putting on another sports bra, and I don't care.' It was a Reebok (sports bra), but it wasn't part of the uniform. I was like, 'I don't care. I'm putting it on. You can't make me go out there after seeing that fight, with just one on.' I doubled up."
- The UFC isn't the only MMA show with a big fight this weekend, as World Series Of Fighting has one of the more important non-UFC bouts in recent memory. Welterweight Champion Rousimar Palhares, who was banned from the UFC two years ago, will take on perennial top-10 welterweight Jake Shields. The event starts on NBC Sports Saturday at 11 pm eastern.
