Shelton Benjamin Says He Recently Negotiated With TNA; Explains Why He Didn't Sign, Maybe Going

Former WWE Intercontinental, United States and Tag Team champion Shelton Benjamin has been largely absent from the American national wrestling scene since being released from WWE several years ago. However, the new Global Force Wrestling signing said that he recently negotiated with TNA Wrestling.

"Many have asked will I ever go to Impact Wrestling. Very recently concluded a dialogue with the company and while both parties are eager to do business we were unable to reach a mutually satisfactory agreement. This is very regretful With all the possibility that were possible," Shelton said.

Benjamin has still been keeping busy since his WWE release, as he and partner Charlie Haas had an excellent run in Ring of Honor. Benjamin has also competed extensively in Japan for NOAH and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Benjamin was also a part of Jeff Jarrett's Global Force Wrestling roster reveal.

Shelton mentioned that he'll continue working with NJPW, NOAH and GFW, and that both he and TNA have left the door open, so a deal could potentially be made. He then joked that he has a lot of friends in TNA, but Jade isn't one of them.
