CZW Wrestler Rips Philly Crowd, Calls Historic ECW Arena A 'Total... Joke'

Over the weekend, CZW wrestler Chris Dickinson took to Facebook to vent about his anger towards Philadelphia's wrestling fans. Dickinson apparently had a tough night at CZW's 16th anniversary show, which was held on February 16 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia (formerly known as the ECW Arena).

Hours after the show, Dickinson posted the following on Facebook:

ECW arena? TOTAL F–ING JOKE. Pure white trash coupled with every other species collectively suffering miserably as they waste their last twenty bucks to have a horrible time. Some of the people that aren't stuck in two thousand whatever and actually like wrestling were there and I apologize to you. Next time I'll lock that headlock on for the entire match instead of even physically exerted myself for your petty entertainment. I will also make sure to take my trunks completely off while sh-tting in the middle or the ring to truly show you how I feel about your hallowed ground. I don't even know why I tried.

Shaheen Shayegan, co-host of The Hot Tag Podcast, attended the show and shed some light on Dickinson's frustration with the live crowd.

"Chris came to the ring, they announced him as 'The Son of Philly' and the crowd wasn't very receptive," Shaheen explained. "As the match went on, he started to apply some headlocks and the people started chanting 'bo-ring!' It's fair to mention that the chants were made by a few bad apples in the crowd. It wasn't as if the whole crowd booed him."

Shaheen also said that Dickinson might have taken some of the subsequent chants more personally.

"The crowd started chanting 'F–k New York' and that really got under Dickinson's skin because he had his parents and his grandmother at the show. He started to get really stiff with Blk Jeez and after the match he cut a promo saying Philadelphia is the worst wrestling crowd and how much he hates the city. He started to bash the roster and said they may not want to speak their mind, but this city is full of ungrateful white trash. The roster came out and then 2300 Arena security followed. He threw a trash can around recklessly and made a mess in the building by throwing stuff around."

Shaheen also shared some of his pictures from the event.
