WWE Doctor Chris Amman Talks Working For WWE, Relationship With Vince McMahon

WWE doctor Chris Amman came under fire last week when former WWE Champion CM Punk singled him out as incompetent and lazy while on Colt Cabana's podcast. Amann was recently a guest on Chris Jericho's Talk Is Jericho podcast alongside Dolph Ziggler and spoke about several topics. The Jericho podcast was recorded before the Punk podcast with Cabana was released.

Jericho noted that Amann is a hard working doctor, saying that he often works 5-6 days a week. Prior to Amann joining the company, WWE only had their own doctor present at television tapings.

Regarding his relationship with Vince McMahon, Amann said that McMahon has been very hospitable and welcome, and they've developed trust in each other. He said McMahon is respectful of medical decisions they make, and there are things they can work around, and generally what the doctors say goes.

CM Punk accused Amann of allowing him to compete for months with a staph infection that was originally diagnosed as a fatty deposit. While Amann put over the company's concussion policy in the interview (which ran in early November), Punk last week said that he considered it a joke.

Amann said that he dislikes the travel for the job, but often travels with the wrestlers. He said as a boss, he's had harder times dealing with high school football coaches than he has with Vince McMahon.
