Hirooki Goto, David Finlay & Ryohei Oiwa vs. Bullet Club (El Phantasmo, Juice Robinson & KENTA)
Brawl to start. Finlay and Juice wrestle like they pressed fast forward, teasing a breathless pace for their upcoming G1 Climax match. Before either man can get a true advantage, Goto and KENTA tag in. Goto brings the fight to KENTA, but KENTA's usual underhanded tactics give him the edge. Oiwa tags in. Phantasmo tags in.
Young Lion Oiwa brings some competent offense against Phantasmo but gets dropped easily by Sudden Death for the pinfall in 8:01.
Winners: Bullet Club (El Phantasmo, Juice Robinson & KENTA)
TMDK (Jonah & Bad Dude Tito) vs. Team Filthy (Tom Lawlor & Royce Isaacs)
A measured, back and forth contest. Jonah and Lawlor feel each other out ahead of their upcoming match with almost-cautious wrestling. Isaacs and Tito bring a bit more fight to each other throughout the match. TMDK start to get the advantage on Isaacs but Filthy Tom is there to help his teammate. After a wild, ring clearing exchange, Lawlor locked Tito in a complicated submission hold for the win in 9:20.
Winners: Team Filthy (Tom Lawlor & Royce Isaacs)
Suzuki-gun (Lance Archer, TAKA Michinoku & Taichi) vs. Bullet Club (Chase Owens, Bad Luck Fale & Yujiro Takahashi)
Archer and Fale continue their bad blood from their G1 match, while Taichi attacks Chase. Taichi tries to prove that Chase's win last year against him was a fluke.
Suzuki-gun eventually traps Yujiro in the corner, but tags in TAKA, who is nearly immediately overcome. Yujiro drills TAKA with Pimp Juice for the pinfall in 6:10.
Winners: Bullet Club (Chase Owens, Bad Luck Fale & Yujiro Takahashi)
United Empire (Great-O-Khan, Will Ospreay & Jeff Cobb) vs. House of Torture (SHO, EVIL & Dick Togo)
House of Torture did their best to try and out cheat the United Empire, but UE was simply too strong. Cobb, O-Khan and Ospreay kept the House of Torture boys in check for a majority of the match.
Even Dick Togo's trusty garrote wasn't enough, as he was submitted by O-Khan for the win in 7:47.
Winners: United Empire (Great-O-Khan, Will Ospreay & Jeff Cobb)
Hiroshi Tanahashi, Tama Tonga & Jado vs. Los Ingobernables de Japon (Tetsuya Naito, SANADA & BUSHI)
Tama and SANADA start the match with a little game of "anything you can do, I can do better" as Tama tries the Paradise Lock and SANADA tries the Gun Stun. Tanahashi and Naito mainly fought each other on the outside, while Tama & Jado took SANADA & BUSHI to their limit.
Jado eventually ends up the weak link and gets outpaced by BUSHI & SANADA. SANADA locks in Skull End for the victory in 9:29.
Winners: Los Ingobernables de Japon (Tetsuya Naito, SANADA & BUSHI)
There is a brief intermission.
C Block: Zack Sabre Jr. (2) vs. Aaron Henare (2)
Henare comes at Sabre with strong punches and kicks. Sabre takes the blows, looking for any opportunity to catch a limb for a submission. Henare keeps making it to the ropes during any submission.
They fight to the outside where Henare seems to injure Sabre's ribs. They battle back into the ring where Henare capitalizes on the wounded torso, with a spear and a full nelson. Sabre is simply too flexible and wriggles out of all the full nelsons. Henare attempts Streets of Rage but Sabre counters with a kneebar for the submission in 14:15.
Winner: Zack Sabre Jr. (4)
D Block: YOSHI-HASHI (0) vs. Shingo Takagi (0)
YOSHI-HASHI stood toe-to-toe with a former World Champion and held his own. Both men traded vicious strikes and high impact offense. A wild back and forth match throughout the start.
Shingo hits Made In Japan for a nearfall, stunning the former champ. YOSHI-HASHI hit Karma out of nowhere but couldn't capitalize. Shingo finally had to resort to a Ground Cobra pin to sneak out the win in 17:28.
Winner: Shingo Takagi (2)
A Block: Kazuchika Okada (2) vs. Toru Yano (2)
Yano came to the ring swigging sake like the Yano of old. Yano took Okada to the outside and tried to get another countout to no avail. Yano uses every underhanded tactic in the book to try and counter Okada's determined offense.
Yano exposes the turnbuckle and sends Okada into it, but can't capitalize. Okada withstands the barrage of shenanigans and locks in Money Clip for the submission in 10:10.
Winner: Kazuchika Okada (4)
B Block: Tomohiro Ishii (0) vs. Jay White (2)
Jay White spends the match proving that he has the strength to go toe-to-toe with Ishii and is successful. Ishii gets frustrated early by Jay's tactics. Gedo stays outside the barricade on the outside, but still manages to throw a chair at Ishii's head behind the referee's back.
Ishii goes on a tear of near falls on White, hitting a near-endless series of high impact offense. White withstands it all and sneaks in a Bladerunner for the win in 22:02.
Winner: Jay White (4)
