AEW Dynamite Results: Cody Vs. Orange Cassidy, Title Eliminator Tournament, Inner Circle

- Backstage, MJF talks with Dasha about Wardlow potentially winning the tournament. If he ends up winning the title, MJF says he actually ends up being champion since Wardlow is his property. He checks in with Wardlow on that, Wardlow just says sure. Sammy Guevara shows up and throws MJF's Inner Circle jacket on the ground and says he's going to do everything he can so MJF won't join the group. MJF calls off Wardlow. MJF talks some more trash and has a face-off with Guevara for a moment before he heads out to the stage with Wardlow.
Wardlow vs. Hangman Page (Title Eliminator Tournament Match)
MJF doesn't go to ringside for the match. Page with the quick dropkick, but Wardlow returns fire with some big offense. Page with a boot to the face, Wardlow looks for F-10, nope, Page thrown into the corner and takes a clothesline. Wardlow out to the floor, Page with a splash, caught in midair and sent into the ring post. Wardlow then spears Page through the barricade.

Page able to just barely get back into the ring before the ten-count. Wardlow continues to beat his opponent up, release suplex, gets Page up on the second rope and looks for a chokeslam. Page reverse with a cross armbreaker over the top rope. Page on the apron, takes a knee and another release suplex. Wardlow up top, goes for a senton, nobody home. Wardlow tries for a release german suplex, Page lands on his feet, then clotheslines Wardlow out to the floor. Page goes up top and hits a moonsault down on Wardlow.

Page looks for buckshot lariat, ends up eating a big lariat from Wardlow, cover, two. Wardlow hits F-10, but Page rolls out to the floor. Wardlow heads to the second rope with Page on his shoulders. Page throws some elbows, and hits a super fallaway slam! He heads to the apron, buckshot lariat lands, hits another one, pin, 1-2-3.

- Jon Moxley reflects on his past year where he's defended the AEW World Championship. Moxley says it's been all business along the way, but at the PPV it's personal when he takes on Eddie Kingston. Moxley says there will be nobody else to blame when Kingston is forced to say "I quit" at the PPV. Moxley continues that he will crush Kingston's ego, like he's done with everyone else he's faced.
- Eddie Kingston in the ring, he's sick of talking, he wants to fight. Kingston says how dare the champion not show up for tonight's show, noting he's a coward. Kingston says instead, he'll face Sydal, someone who tried to steal his thunder. Kingston reminds everyone he wasn't eliminated from that match. "Hi, Lance," camera pans to Lance Archer and Jake Roberts sitting in the crowd.
Eddie Kingston (with Butcher, Blade, and Bunny) vs. Matt Sydal
Kingston stalls a bit early on, they tie-up a few times, Kingston takes a couple arm drags. Sydal with an early roll-up, two. Jumping spinning kick, followed up by a basement kick in the corner, pin, one-count. Sydal lands a few kicks, but gets sent hard to the mat, elbow drop on Sydal. Sydal working over Kingston, but eats some chops. Sydal with a jumping knee, kick to the back of the head, cover, two.

Kingston hops to the second rope, Sydal follows, gets shoved off, but hits a standing head scissors. Sydal up top, diving knee drop, cover, two. Sydal with a crucifix pin, two. Kingston lands a kitchen sink, spinning backfist, Kingston then uses Moxley's bulldog choke for the tap out. Kingston doesn't let go though and demands that "Jon Moxley" quit. Sydal then says "I quit!"

- Excalibur talks with FTR (with Tully) in a separate location, and The Young Bucks. Exaclibur says Matt's ankle is a sever sprain after FTR's ambush. Matt says he's fine, and he'll be at Full Gear, especially when this match has been years in the match. Harwood says yes this is a dream match, but only being champions matter. Whoever leaves the PPV has cemented their legacy as the best tag team in this world. Excalibur says some might say in the locker room that what happened to Matt was karma for what they've been doing these past few weeks. Matt says sometimes good people do bad things, he says something has been missing over the past year. They needed that edge, and that came, in-part, to FTR messing with them. Matt says he doesn't know if he likes the way he feels, but it's the way he feels. Excalibur goes to ask Nick another question, but the champs feel like they aren't even needed here. The champs leaves. Matt and Nick bring up a stipulation for the match. Matt says if they don't win the title, they will never challenge for the titles ever again.
- Inner Circle (minus Jake Hager) make their way to the ring for their Inner Circle Town Hell Meeting to determine if MJF will join the group. MJF heads out next. Tony Schiavone and Dasha are on the stage to moderate. Luchasaurus steps up first to ask MJF a question about how MJF could keep the Inner Circle prosperous going forward? MJF shows some random chart about how much better the group will do with MJF. He says it's simple math, the group will do better. Britt Baker and Reba show up for a question. Reba seems smitten with Jericho, Baker says she's acting weird. Baker then says MJF has a terrible track record in AEW, how does that make Jericho feel? Jericho says he's fully away of MJF's track record. He says MJF isn't actually in the group, so he wouldn't learn all their secrets, if he did turn on them, they'd kick his ass. MJF says if they work together they will make a whole lot of money and win a ton of titles.

Peter Avalon is up next, and asks if he can join the group. They just laugh at him. Eric Bischoff then shows up to ask a question about what can MJF do for the Inner Circle? MJF says that was a powerful question, so he'll give a powerful answers: "Friendship." Crowd boos that. Bischoff continues, asking what can Inner Circle do for MJF? He then brings up Jericho and calls him a "prima dona," Jericho tries to interrupt, Tony Schiavone tells him to shut up. Bischoff says MJF has the same qualities, so what would keep the two of them from just killing each other, if he joined the group?

MJF says he's a good person, and has been getting booed, but doesn't answer the question. Jericho asks MJF to answer the question "How do we know you won't stab us in the back?" MJF then ask Jericho why doesn't he answer a question. MJF says over the last few weeks he's checked off every box on why he should join. MJF wonders what hasn't he done? Jericho says MJF hasn't beaten him, but he'll get a chance at Full Gear on November 7. If MJF wins, he can join the Inner Circle. MJF says he'll do anything necessary to win. Ortiz gets on the mic, says he and Sammy don't want him in the group. He says MJF doesn't have a shot. Next week, it's Ortiz and Sammy vs. MJF and Wardlow.
- Taz tells Will Hobbs he wants an answer about joining the group, and that he's running out of time.
Cody (c) vs. Orange Cassidy (Lumberjack Match for the AEW TNT Championship)
Friends of both wrestlers circle around the ring. Cody tries for cross rhodes early on, but no luck. Back and forth action action. Cody with a delayed suplex, taunts Cassidy by doing a few push-ups. Cassidy with a suplex, both guys ends up on the floor. Lumberjacks scuffle a little bit. Best Friends hug Cassidy. Cassidy gets up on the apron, Cody with a dragon screw leg whip in the ropes. He then pops Cassidy, who falls back into the arms of Best Friends. They switch places, Cody gets popped and falls back into the arms of Best Friends, they then drop Cody to the floor. Cody ends up getting sucker punched by Trent.

Cassidy with a spinning DDT, no, Cody looks for figure-four, no, and he gets kicked out. Cody gets back in the ring to avoid Dark Order. Swinging DDT by Cassidy on Cody. Both men sent out a few times, big brawl breaks out and the lumberjacks are fighting each other now. Cassidy goes to the top rope with Cody and superplexes him on nearly all of the lumberjacks. Both Cody and Cassidy head into the ring, cover, two. Ten minutes have passed.

Cody cutter hits, pin, two-count. Cassidy is up, throws some very weak shots, but then lands a big superkick. Cody returns fire with a clothesline. Cassidy with a diving DDT, beach break, cover, 1-2-no. Cassidy is fired up now and tries for orange punch, but Dark Order runs in. Silver hits Cassidy. Arn Anderson then pops Cassidy! Cody with a cross rhodes, cover, 1-2-3.
Winner: Cody via Pinfall
- Post-match, everyone jumps in the ring and brawls. Darby Allin is looking on from way up in the stands. The Gunn Club ends up clearing everyone out of the ring. Cody seems to pay attention to that from the stage.
- Backstage, Best Friends bump into Miro and Kip Sabian. Miro says they have a gift for the guys, no hard feeling. Penelope Ford says trick-or-treat! Miro and Sabian beat the two guys up. Miro throws Trent into a wall, "I will never forgive you! Never!" The gift was just the controller for the arcade that was destroyed previously.
- Backstage, Serena Deeb says she beat Thunder Rosa last night to win the NWA Women's World Championship. She says the game has changed and people will respect her going forward.
Serena Deeb (c) vs. Leyla Hirsch (NWA Women's World Championship)
Hirsch able to ground Deeb, front facelock, Deeb trying to work her way out, but doesn't have luck at first. She finally gets out of it, hits a couple arm drags, works the arm, cover, two. Back and forth action, Hirsch working over the champion's arm, Deeb rolls her over for a two count. Hirsch drivers her knee into Deeb's elbow. Deeb is then sent hard chest-first into the corner, and one again.

Hirsch continues to beat up Deeb. Hirsch heads to the top, moonsault, nobody home. Deeb with a swinging neckbreaker, then hits another neckbreaker, she then locks in a single leg boston crab while trapping the arm. Hirsch taps out.
Winner: Serena Deeb via Submission
- AEW Women's World Champion Hikaru Shida vs. Nyla Rose is announced for Full Gear.
Shawn Spears vs. VSK
Quick squash match with Spears hitting the C4 (death valley driver), pin, and we're done here.
Winner: Shawn Spears via Pinfall
- Post-match, Spears grabs someone from ringside wearing a costume, and throws them into the ring He asks Tully for the steel slug, but the person removes their mask and it's Scorpio Sky. Sky hits a TKO on spears.
- Commentary runs down the PPV card. Some new matches include Full Gear: The Buy In – Orange Cassidy vs. John Silver. Also, Matt Hardy vs. Sammy Guevara is being called "The Elite Deletion."

Fenix is at ringside for the match. He was originally scheduled to face Omega, but an injury took him out, and in goes Penta. A cocky Omega drops Penta. He then takes his shirt off and reveals the AAA Mega Championship, a title he beat Fenix for. He puts the title down on the mat and taunts Penta. Omega with a chop, Penta gives a big one of his own. Penta takes off the glove to give another one, Omega ends up kicking Penta, smacking him with the glove, then throws it at Fenix.

Omega avoids Penta, then takes another chop to the chest. Both trade big shots to each other. Leaping head scissors by Omega, sending Penta out to the floor. Omega looks to fly and lands down on his opponent. Penta sent back into the ring. Oemga goes on the apron and eats a kick to the face. Penta goes up top, diving crossbody down on Omega.

Back in the ring, Penta looks for a double stomp, nope, but lands a pump kick. Penta with a springboard sling blade, cover, two. Penta goes up top, hits a diving stomp, cover, two. Omega recovers, snap dragon suplex, another, looks for a third, but Penta fights out of it. Penta with some chops, Omega hits a knee to the face, powerbomb, v-trigger lands, cover, 1-2-no.

Omega hits another big v-trigger, one winged angel, nope, but Omega hits a leg lariat to the back of the head. Penta in the corner, Omega charges and hits a v-trigger to the back of the head. Omega sits Penta on the top turnbuckle, but Penta fights him off for a moment. Omega adjusts and looks to superplex Penta to the ramp. Penta with a headbutt and then hits a canadian destroyer on the ramp! Back in the ring, Penta hits a package piledriver, pin, two.

Both wrestlers throwing strikes, Penta tries for a pump-handle, reversed, but Penta hits a kick to the head. Penta eats a v-trigger right under the chin. One winged angel, Penta fights him off, looks to snap Omega's arm and does so. Penta a pump-handle, nope, chops by Kenny. Thrust kick to Omega's face, Penta tries for a springboard sling blade and eats a knee, one winged angel, cover, 1-2-3.
