AEW Dynamite Results: Cody Defends TNT Title, Hangman Page And Kenny Omega In Action, FTR

Hangman Page and Kenny Omega (c) vs. Kip Sabian (with Penelope Ford) and Jimmy Havoc (AEW World Tag Team Championship)

Havoc goes to work on Omega with some big forearms to the face. Omega follows up with a running back elbow. He goes for another, Ford trips him up, Omega looks to the ref, but Havoc with a shot to the back of the head. Omega continues to get beat up, but finally hits a twisting suplex on Havoc and tags in Omega. Sitting in the stands is FTR, looking on. Page with some big clotheslines on Havoc, tags in Omega who hits a double ax handle off the top rope. Omega and Page chop away at Havoc.

Both guys get sent out of the ring, referee checkign on them, Ford then leaps off the top rope and tries for a hurricanrana on Page. Page catches her in mid-swing and Rick Knox finally turns around, he isn't quite sure what's going and ends up tossing Ford to the back. Havoc with a big wrench to the back of Page and hits Omega with it, too. He goes for the pin, but only gets a two-count.

Havoc keeps the pressure on with shots in the corner. Sabian and Havoc think they have the momentum on Page now, but they both get beat up a bit. Omega tags in and hits some big strikes on both guys, back elbow, eats a pump kick, and lands a hurricanrana. Hits another on Havoc. Omega with you can't escape, plus a backstabber to Sabian who was hanging onto the turnbuckle, cover, two. Page tags back in and they go back and forth on Sabian, shooting star press by Page, cover, two-count.

Page tries for a suplex, Sabian lands on his feet. Havoc tries to hit Page with a hacksaw, misses, gets kicked to the floor. Page with a fallaway slam on Sabian, kip-up, flies down on Havoc. Big lariat, cover, Havoc breaks it up. Havoc sent out to the floor again. Omega tagged in, charges, nobody home, Sabian with a swinging DDT. Havoc gets tagged in, uppercut, death valley driver sending Page into Omega. Sabian with a double stomp on Omega. Havoc tagged, big DDT, cover, Page saves the match.

Sabian tosses Page back out to the floor. Sabian with a springboard dropkick, poisonrana on Omega, and Havoc comes back in. Havoc gets thrown into Sabian, snap dragon suplex by Omega. V-trigger to Sabian. Page is tagged in, clotheslines in the corner, assisted german suplex. Hangman with a powerbomb to Sabian, Omega hits a knee to the back of Sabian's head. Last Call hits (buckshot lariat / v-trigger combo) on Havoc, cover, 1-2-3.

Winners: Hangman Page and Kenny Omega via Pinfall

- Sitting in a limo, Tully Blanchard said he's figure out what Shawn Spears has been missing, and presents him a single black glove.

Brian Cage (with Taz) vs. Shawn Dean

Cage immediately attacks Dean, hits an arm-trapped belly-to-belly release suplex. Cage lifts and plants his opponent to the mat. Big buckle bomb, drill claw, cover, and we're done here.

Winner: Brian Cage via Pinfall

- Post-match, Taz gets on the mic and talks about last week when he tried to tell Moxley about what Cage was going to do to him. Taz didn't appreciate Moxley laughing at his words. He says Moxley needs to get his head straight or Cage is going to take it off at Fyter Fest. Moxley's music hits and he strolls out through the stands. Moxley goes to get in the ring, Taz tells him to think and be careful about what he's going to say. Moxley says the reason he was smiling and laughing was because the thought of taking on someone like Cage in the ring simply makes him happy. Moxley says when someone steps in the ring with him for his title, it will not be a game. Moxley continues that Cage might be something different entirely in AEW, but so is he. Moxley says Cage is swimming in the waters with a different breed of shark and he's not intimidated by their words whatsoever. Moxley heads out of the ring.

- Some random outdoor lot, Lancer Archer beats up some poor guy and then talks with Alex Marvez. Archer says one loss is not a big deal, and he'll show everyone pain and torture like they've never seen before. Jake Roberts looks on and can see Archer is not in a great mood. He actually apologizes to Marvez for getting shoved by Archer.

- At the bar, Private Party hanging out, Quen goes to talk about his banged up knee. Matt Hardy (Team Xtreme look) shows up, and asks Quen how he's feeling. Quen won't be missing any time. Hardy calls Private Party the future of the tag division and offers up if they ever need some advice, he's happy to help. Kassidy then says how about a team? Hardy Party! Matt walks out and sees Sammy Guevara, says hey, "We're cool man, respect." Guevara watches him walk off and looks a bit confused.

- The Bunny is in the crowd, talking with QT Marshall.

Colt Cabana vs. Chris Jericho (with Jake Hager)

Sammy Guevara comes out and does a terrible rendition of Jericho's theme, he then hangs out on the stage. Cabana gets the best of Jericho early on, sending him out of the ring, and beating him up some more at ringside. Hager comes near, Cabana hits a second rope moonsault down on Jericho and Hager. Looks like he's a got a little blood coming out of his mouth after that move. He then sends Jericho back into the ring.

Referee checking on Jericho, Cabana heading up top, Hager smashes Colt's face into the top turnbuckle and he goes crashing to the floor. Back in the ring, Jericho continues to beat up Cabana, goes for a cover, two. Cabana sent into the corner, looks for the bulldog, but Cabana sends him straight into the middle turnbuckle, hanging him out to dry. Cabana and Jericho trade shots, Colt with a bionic elbow, flying apple, second splash, cover, two-count.

Jericho tries for the lionsault, lands on his feet, big elbow by Colt, tries for the superman pin, but Jericho reverses it right into walls of Jericho. Cabana claws his way over and gets the bottom rope. Jericho thinks he won, but Aubrey informs him otherwise. Colt with a big chop, hurricanrana, clothesline in the corner, Jericho put on the second rope, Cabana with an avalanche hurricanrana, cover, two. Colt tries for a tricky pin, another two. Cabana sent into the corner, he goes for a misdirection and runs right into a judas effect to the face, cover, 1-2-3.

- Post-match, Jericho gets on the mic. Jericho says we saw what happened to Cabana, the same will happen to Mike Tyson, "that piece of s—!" Jericho says this is the fight everyone wants to see. Jericho wants it, too. Jericho says he's not waiting either, he wants him right now. "I want the baddest man on the planet to come out here!" He keeps calling for him, but Orange Cassidy's music hits and out he comes. Cassidy rolls into the ring and walks up to Jericho, he puts Jericho's hands into his belt, then Cassidy puts his hands in his pockets. Hager goes after Cassidy, but he ducks him and rolls out of the ring. Best Friends then bring him over the rail. Santana and Ortiz run out to the ring and the two sides talk some trash as Best Friends and Cassidy walk away.

- At a training facility, workout montage for Britt Baker is shown while she's in a wheelchair. Baker curls a two pound weight, and is pushed around by Tanea Brooks as she acts like she's tired out. We see Tony Schiavone cheer her on as she rolls herself up a ramp.

Nyla Rose vs. Big Swole

Swole gets in a headlock on her opponent, brings Rose down to the mat. She continues to work over Rose, but then gets thrown to the mat. Rose charges in, Swole goes low and out Rose goes to the floor. Swole tries for a punt from the apron, gets swept down face first to the apron, she's then jammed into the edge of the apron and tossed into the ring.

Rose with a backbreaker. AEW Women's World Champion Hikaru Shida, Anna Jay, and Britt Baker are shown looking on from the crowd. Swole slows Rose down, hits a running elbow, slingshot cutter, cover, two. Swole hits a big pump kick, cover, two. Swole tries for another cutter, nope, but Swole fights away, hits a chop block, kick to the back of the head. She runs right into a spear though, Rose looking for beast bomb, Swole flips out of it into a pin, two count. Swole plants Rose's head down to the mat. Both are up, Swole looks for a discus forearm, and goes right into a pop-up spinebuster for the 1-2-3.

- Tony talks with Swole after the loss. Swole says despite the loss, it feels good to be back after being away for two months. Baker starts running her mouth and says Swole wants to mess with her and has Brooks back the cart up against the barricade. Swole grabs a chair and goes to hit Baker, but Brooks takes off so she can't.

- Backstage, Tony talks with Darby Allin and apparently he's not cleared for action yet after getting destroyed during the Casino Ladder Match. Allin is asked about the words that Taz said to him previously. "Life is one big joke, but Brian Cage, I'll get the last laugh," Allin responds.

- Tony talks with FTR and first asks what it means. They says it's anything they want it to be, it can just take a life of its own, it's a lifestyle. Right now it's "For The Revolution." They're asked who they want to face, and pretty much run down the entire tag division. Say the tag champs aren't even an actual team right now, they say Lucha Bros don't understand the basic rule of tagging in. Tony then notes Young Bucks weren't mentioned by them. Dax says he isn't happy about hearing how great they are, and are tag team of the decade. Cash says they don't want to have a match of the year with them, he just wants to punch them in the face and win quickly. They finish up the interview, but cameras keep rolling. Tony then says this whole time he thought "FTR" meant "F— The Revival." Suddenly we hear loud noises and The Butcher and The Blade come down from the second floor of the lobby. FTR says what happened last week wasn't personal, it was business. If they want to settle things, let's do it in the ring. "Just relax!" Cash then throws a water bottle at them and says they can get in the ring next week.

- Backstage, Marvez talks with Cabana. He says he fell short, but has looked impressive. Overall, his record has been great, but he can't come up with these big wins. Brodie Lee shows up, tells him it's what Cabana does after a loss and how he responds. Lee tells him he can help with that. The spokesman tells Cabana to think about it and hands him a bottle of water. They walk away and Cabana says that's nothing he wants to be a part of.

Cody with Arn Anderson (c) vs. Jungle Boy (AEW TNT Championship)

Side headlock by Cody, hard takedown, cover, barely a one-count. JB uses his speed, but takes some chops and a big forearm that sends him to the mat. Cody catches JB in midair, powerslam, cover, two. Cody locks in the figure-four, JB able to eventually grab the bottom rope. From the apron, spinning DDT, cover, two-count. Cody out to the floor. JB hits a suicide dive, goes for a second, but he's caught. Cody then tosses him on the Gunn Club, they catch him and set JB on the floor.

Cody looked to headbutt JB, but JB moves and he hits the wall. JB then looks to MJF who gets yelled at "You're a joke! You know I'm better than you!" Back to Cody, who's busted open after clunking his head on the wall. JB sends Cody into the ring. JB with a big flying forearm, punches to the head, dropkick, pin, two. Cody finally hits a pump kick to slow JB down. JB with a clothesline that turns Cody inside out, cover, two. JB continues to swing away on Cody's cut. JB heads to the top turnbuckle, Cody with a dropkick, delayed vertical suplex by Cody, cover, two-count.

Cody looks for another figure-four, nope, Cody tries to go up top, JB follows and swings away. The two go crashing down through a table that was setup on the floor! Cody is up first, sends JB in the ring. JB tried for a pin, nope, Cody with a cross rhodes, pin, 1-2-3.

- Post-match, Brandi, Dustin, Arn, Luchasaurus, and Marko Stunt come out to check on their people. Cody helps Jungle Boy up after the match and they hug. JB raises up Cody's arm as pyro goes off in the background.
