- Commentary just received the card, said they are basically going into this event blind. YOSHI-HASHI will be making his return tonight after being out with a head/shoulder injury from when he crashed into the side of the ring during his entrance at Destruction in Kobe back in September.
Lance Archer, Davey Boy Smith Jr., and Takayuki Iizuka vs. Yoh, Sho, and Rocky Romero
Suzuki-gun with the early attack on their opponents, all six brawling on the floor or in the crowd. Romero and Archer in the ring, Romero tries for his forever clotheslines in the corner, but Archer keeps moving forward, Archer charges, Romero dips low and sends the big man to the floor. Romero looks for a suicide dive, gets caught, and chokeslammed on the apron. Yoh getting launched through the barricade gate out on the floor.

Back in the ring, Archer with a stalled power slam on Romero. Archer with multiple splashes in the corner. Archer takes off Iizuka's mask and he bites all three of his opponent's heads. He then goes for Romero's finger, Smith tags in, kick to Romero's midsection. Romero finally tags in Yoh, but he ends up getting completely destroyed by the other team, finishing with Smith hitting a second rope power slam, cover, Sho breaks it up.
Archer with a massive lariat, taking out Sho. Killer bomb attempt, Yoh fights them off, Sho flies in with a missile dropkick to dispatch Archer. Trio of knees on Smith, sending him to the outside, Romero with a suicide dive on Archer. Sho and Yoh work on Smith, try for a double suplex, he suplexes both of them, rolls through, but ends up tagging Iizuka who bites Romero, Sho with the roll-up for the 1-2-3, and Roppongi 3k quickly bail to the back. Romero ends up running out through the crowd as Archer chases him.
Winners: Yoh, Sho, Rocky Romero via Pinfall
- Post-match, Smith with a running powerslam on a Young Lion right out on the floor. Archer blasts a couple more Young Lions on his way out.
Yujiro Takahashi and Chase Owens vs. Toa Henare and Tomoaki Honma
Honma and Owens start out, Owens misses a charge in the corner, hip toss by Honma. Honma looks for a headbutt, Owens rolls, he looks for another, Owens goes all the way to the floor. Takahashi and Henare tagged in, Takahashi backed into the ropes, Henare backs away Takahashi tries for a punch, misses, punch, kick to the stomach, slaps to the face and Henare tries for a headlock, but Takahashi bites his hand to break the hold. Henare with chops, boot to the face, shoulder tackle drops Takahashi.

Owens with a slap to Henare's back, and gets knocked off the apron. Owens and Henare brawl to the outside, Pieter gets in a slap on Henare. Back in the ring, Takahashi and Honma go at it. Takahashi, going to work on his opponent, bulldog lands, looks for another headbutt, but nobody home. Takahashi with a fisherman buster, cover, two-count. Henare gets back in the ring, takes down Owens, Takahashi tries to help, gets a kick for his trouble. Owens with the roll through transition into an ankle lock on Henare. Honma gets over to break up the hold and throws punches on his opponents. Owens with drop toe hold, Takahashi hits a low drop kick to get rid of him. Package piledriver from Owens on Henare, pin, and that will do it.
Winners: Chase Owens and Yujiro Takahashi via Pinfall
- Post-match, Owens says to commentary, "New year, new Chase."
Beretta and Chuckie T vs. Juice Robinson and David Finlay
Finlay and Chuckie get things going first. Finlay with a dropkick that sends Chuckie out to the floor, he gets a hug from Beretta and tags him in. Beretta charges in, Finlay instantly drops him. Beretta heads up to the crowd to say hi to his mom and gives her a hug.Chuckie gets all annoyed about Beretta giving his Mom two hugs, Beretta gives him a shove, but things continue on. Both Beretta and Chuckie get dropkicked out of the ring, stereo dives to the outside. Robinson and Finlay go for a hug, then Robinson thinks about a kiss and Finlay backs away, crowd enjoyed that.

Best Friends then launch both Robinson and Finlay into the barricade. Beretta puts Finlay over the barricade and hits a double stomp to the back of the head. Back in the ring, Beretta hammers away on Finlay in the corner, tags in Chuckie who instantly hits a suplex, cover, two. Beretta tagged in, double ax handle on Finlay. Finlay ends up on the apron, looks for a slingshot DDT, gets caught and planted with a german suplex with the bridge, two-count. Chuckie tries for a back suplex, Finlay lands on his feet, hits a back suplex of his own. Robinson and Beretta get tagged in, back-and-forth attacks. Robinson with a couple punches as the crowd yells "Juice!" looks for left hand of god, misses, Beretta with a half-and-half suplex, tries for a tornado DDT, nope. Shotgun dropkick by Robinson and a cannonball in the corner.
Beretta looking for a dude buster, counter, Beretta misses a knee, double clotheslines by both wrestlers. Beretta with an enziguri, but Robinson nails him with a left hand of god, looks for pulp friction, no. Beretta with a shotgun knee to Robinson. Commentary putting over Beretta and a possible opponent for Robinson down the road, crowd was into their sequence. Finaly gets tagged in and hits a backbreaker, cover, two. Chuckie gets in the ring with a chair and just smashes Finlay in the back right in front of the referee who immediately calls for the bell.
Winners: David Finlay and Juice Robinson via DQ
- Post-match, Chuckie looks for more chairshot on Finlay. Beretta takes the chair from Robinson and yells at him. Chuckie then launches a chair at Robinson's face. Beretta doesn't seem to happy with Chuckie and tells him to leave the ring. Chuckie slips around him and hits Finlay with a snap piledriver on a chair. Beretta continnues to head to the back. Crowd not sure what to make of the DQ. He heads towards the crowd for a moment, but then goes to the back.

- Romero on commentary, noted he got about an hour's notice before he knew when and what his match would be for the show.
KUSHIDA, Yuji Nagata, Jeff Cobb vs. Will Ospreay, Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii
Ospreay and KUSHIDA get things started. Commentary noting Ospreay saying he's backing off the dangerous flipping style and noting his more agressive style at Wrestle Kingdom with that nasty elbow to the back of Ibushi's head. Plenty of counters from Ospreay and KUSHIDA, but Ospreay eventually gets the best of him with a number of strikes. Ishii tagged in and lands some massive strikes. KUSHIDA fights back with kicks, until he's flattened by one chop. Ishii looks for a single leg boston crab. Ospreay tries to keep Nagata at bay, gets sent to the floor as Nagata lands a kick to the back of Ishii's head. Ishii slows walks over to Nagata and they start swinging away on each other with Ishii nailing him with a headbutt.

Goto tagged in and KUSHIDA is still in the ring, he desperately needs to get a tag at this point. Goto plants KUSHIDA to the mat, cover, two. KUSHIDA tries to fight off all three of his opponents, chops to Goto's chest, Goto charges in and gets a boot to the face, Goto runs in again, gets a pele kick to the mug. Ishii and Ospreay in to keeps KUSHIDA away from his corner, but he hits double elbows giving him a window to take in Nagata. He lands some big kicks to Ishii's arm, boot to the face, then the back. Ishii didn't like that one and gets right back up. Ishii with a shoulder tackle and kick to the back. Forearms in the middle of the ring from both wrestlers with Nagata finally dropping Ishii.

Nagata tries for a running kick, caught, Nagata with a massive chop, kick to the chest, then more kicks to the back, ground and pound, Nagata locks in the seated armbar (big crowd pop!) Ospreay breaks it up (crowd boos). Ospreay looks to take him out, but Nagata hits an overhead release suplex on Ospreay. Goto and Cobb in the ring now, Cobb with punches and chops and a big flying forearm in the corner. Cobb and Goto try for clotheslines, both are blocked. Multiple counters, both with clotheslines, and finally double clotheslines send both men crashing to the mat.

KUSHIDA and Ospreay with a flurry of attacks on each other, both with cartwheel attacks, KUSHIDA with a double kick to get rid of Goto and Ishii. Ospreay with a springboard forearm on KUSHIDA. Oscutter attempt, Cobb catches him and hits a spinning back suplex. Cobb with an assist as he flips KUSHIDA up and on Ospreay, cover, two. Ospreay with with a pop-up flip, KUSHIDA with a big DDT, looks for back to the future, Ospreay with a modified stunner. Ishii in with a dropkick, Ospreay with a standing moonsault off Ishii's back, cover, broken up by Cobb. Ospreay with a wrap around kick on KUSHIDA, thinks about hitting the nasty elbow from the back, but instead hits stormbreaker hits, cover, 1-2-3.
Winners: Will Ospreay, Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii via Pinfall
- Post-match, Nagata and Ishii still barking at each other and throw a ton of shots at each other. Ospreay with a fist bump to KUSHIDA before he heads to the back.
Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa, and Taiji Ishimori (c) (with Jado) vs. Ryusuke Taguchi, Togi Makabe, and Toru Yano (NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship)
Makabe and Loa gets things going with some charges in the middle of the ring, neither man going done at first, but Loa finally drops Makabe. Loa gets dropped and Yano wants in! He's all kinds of amped up and then tries to figure out what Taguchi wants him to do, Tonga chases after Yano as he already unties the turnbuckle pad. Tonga knocks him down and mocks Yano going after the turnbuckle pad. Yano able to avoid Jado's kendo stick, Tonga with an attack from behind, he goes to attack him more, but pulls back because he's a good guy now!

Ishimori is tagged in, punches away at Yano's midsection, already tags out to Loa. Yano gets dropped, cover, two. Yano ends up getting sent into the exposed turnbuckle. Yano tells Loa "not to do that" as he rolls around in pain on the mat. Tonga tagged in, looks to send Yano into the exposed turnbuckle, he sends Yano into another corner. Crowd applauds Tonga for not being a jerk, power slam, cover, two. Loa tells Tonga they came here to win and tells Tonga to throw Yano into the corner. Tonga finally decides to do it and Yano reverses the whip. Tonga is able to get to his feet first, Yano with a hair pull, yanking Tonga to the mat. Taguchi and Ishimori are tagged in and Taguchi hits a couple hip attacks on him and then Loa.
Taguchi with a flurry of "b-triggers" taunts Ishimori into going for a low dropkick, but misses. Taguchi with a couple suplexes, Ishimori gets the referee's attention and Jado cracks Taguchi with a kendo stick. Taguchi recovers and gets the ankle lock on Ishimori, who eventually gets to the ropes. Taguchi with a thrust kick, Ishimori lands a handspring spinning kick. Loa in now, Taguchi tries for another hip attack and ends up getting an atomic drop. Taguchi is able to tag in Makabe, he clears out Tonga and Ishimori, then goes for 10-punches in the corner on Loa.
Makabe with a drop toe hold into the ropes, gets the referee's attention, Yano with a chair shot to Loa. They look for a cover, Ishimori yanks the referee out of the ring. Jado gets in with a kendo stick, but is sent out of the ring. Makabe with double clotheslines on Loa and Tonga. Makabe goes up top, but is sent off the top rope by Chase Owens, he hits a package piledriver, Loa with a piledriver of his own on Makabe, cover, 1-2-3.

- Commentary putting over Chase Owens and Yujiro Takahashi as kind of free agents, but Bullet Club seem accepting of bringing them back into the fold. Owens says to commentary he wasn't making YouTube videos, he was making business moves to get him back with his family. Tonga tells commentary its's 2019, and he's a good guy, seriously!
Minoru Suzuki, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, Taichi, Zack Sabre Jr., and El Desperado vs. EVIL, BUSHI, Tetsuya Naito, Shingo Takagi, and SANADA
Taichi smacks Naito right in the face before the match is officially started. Chaos breaks out all around the ring. There really isn't much actual wrestling going on as everyone is fighting everyone all over the arena. Taichi is really focused on Naito as he chokes him with a chair. SANADA is getting beat up out in the hallway. The referee finally starts up a 20-count to try and get some control.

Back in the ring, Sabre and Suzuki work over BUSHI, completely tying him up as El Desperado get the referee's attention. People are still brawling all over the arena as Kanemaru stomps away on BUSHI. Taichi is still attacking Naito with a chair in the crowd. SANADA with a paradise lock, kick to the backside to send Kanemaru out of the ring. He looks to do the same to Suzuki, but he ends up countering with an armbar. SANADA tries to leap over Suzuki who stops and goes for the rear naked choke, followed up by the gotch style piledriver.
EVIL and Sabre mix it up in the ring, EXIL with a senton splash, but Sabre locks in a cobra twist, EVIL ends up doing of his own. Sabre goes for another submission, EVIL counters with a fisherman buster. Naito has finally made his way back to the apron, gets tagged in and goes up against Taichi. Naito gets some momentum, hip toss, dropkick to the back of the head. Taichi looks for a suplex, on the receiving end of a tornado DDT. LIJ takes down Suzuki-gun, BUSHI helps out Naito, landing a low dropkick. Naito nearly gets powerbombed off the second rope, counters with a hurricanrana, Taichi recovers, hits a big lariat, cover, two. Taka slides the IC Title in the ring, then distracts the referee. Taichi looks to smack Naito, and nails him in the face. Taichi hits black Mephisto, cover, 1-2-3!
Winners: Minoru Suzuki, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, Taichi, Zack Sabre Jr., and El Desperado via Pinfall
- Post-match, Suzuki-gun destroy LIJ. Taichi cuts a promo and tells Naito to hand the title over him to, looks like Naito has a new challenger. He then calls out the fans wearing LIJ shirts.

Jay White, Bad Luck Fale, and Gedo vs. YOSHI-HASHI, Kazuchika Okada, and Hiroshi Tanahashi
Okada wants to start with White, Gedo with an attack from behind, sending Okada otu of the ring. Tanahashi now starting with White, but Okada runs in for a big boot to the face. Okada then tags in YOSHI who hits a low dropkick, cover, barely a one-count. YOSHI swings away on White, Fale trips up and yanks YOSHI out of the ring and everyone brawls on the outside.

White and Fale throwing YOSHI into the barricade a couple times. Back in the ring Gedo beats up YOSHI some more, digs at his eyes for a few moments. Crowd booing him heavily. Fale tagged in and continues to maul YOSHI, Fale cracks Okada off the apron, Gedo then drops Tanahashi on the apron. Fale charges in the corner, misses, Gedo kicks YOSHI, but is dropped with a step-back kick. YOSHI finally tags in Okada, he immediately knocks White off the apron and turns his attention to Gedo.

Gedo with a poke to the eye, but Okada nails him with a sliding forearm. DDT on Gedo, kip-up, powerslam, Okada heads to the top leaps and lands on his feet. Drops Gedo, Fale gets in a cheap shot and is able to get tagged in. Fale with a back drop, cover, two. Okada with a missile dropkick, tries for a powerslam, but doesn't have much luck. Dragon leg screw on Fale and Tanahashi gives him a thumbs up from the corner. Tanahashi and White meet in the middle of the ring. White with a chop to the chest and the champ laughs it off. He smacks White in the face and they trade blows in the middle of the ring.

White with a snap suplex, Tanahashi hits slingblade. YOSHI is tagged back in, multiple chops to White, hurricanrana, running chop to the corner, blockbuster, cover, two. Okada and Tanahashi attack the other opponents out on the floor. White with a uranage, tries for bladerunner, but Okada stops him. Fale drops Okada, Tanahashi dispatches Fale and nails twist and shout on White. YOSHI hits a lariat, hooks the leg and hits a small package suplex, cover, very close three! YOSHI looking to finish off White, White grabs the referee, White eats a superkick, but lands a half-and-half suplex. Bladerunner hit on YOSHI, cover (while staring down Tanahashi), 1-2-3.
Winners: Jay White, Bad Luck Fale, and Gedo via Pinfall
- Post-match, White mocks YOSHI-HASHI, "welcome back!" White stops Tanahashi from leaving and says he wants the title. He says he beat Okada and he's better than Tanahashi. White calls Tanahashi an "old man" as Tanahashi walks back to the ring and gets in the ring. Fale standing behind White. Gedo with an attack from behind and White stomps away on the champion. Okada back in the ring to fight off all three members. Fale with a clubbing chokeslam. White hits bladerunner on Tanahashi, then holds up the title. He gets on the mic again, hypes himself up some more, says this is the "Switchblade Era" and celebrates with Fale and Gedo.
"The Switchblade will be the new IWGP Heavyweight Champion! All you can do is breathe with the Switchblade in the new year... and my new era!"
