Ticket Sales To New Japan G1 Climax Events In Tokyo Selling Well, Final Night Sold Out

The final night of New Japan's G1 Climax at Tokyo Sumo Hall on August 14, is already sold out. The most expensive seats for the other two nights, on August 12 and 13, are all gone, but cheaper tickets remain for both events, according to PIA.

The August 12 show is headlined by Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Kazuchika Okada, the promotion's two biggest stars in a rematch from Wrestle Kingdom 10. August 13 features former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Tetsuya Naito vs. Kenny Omega. The August 14 show is headlined by the tournament final between winners of the two tournament blocks.

New Japan also has two Korakuen Hall events early in the tour, on July 22 and 24. The show on the 24th is sold out. Only a limited number of the most expensive tickets for the show on the 22nd are still available. There just two Korakuen Hall events on G1 tour, compared to three last year.

Last year, New Japan also ran at Sumo Hall for the final three nights of the G1. They only sold out the final night, drawing a self-reported attendance of 10,180. The third- and second-to-last events last year drew 5,658 and 7,557, respectively.

Tickets to the Sumo Hall events have been on sale since June 14. Korakuen Hall tickets went on sale on June 6. Sumo Hall holds about 10,000. The capacity of Korakuen Hall is just under 2,000.
