When John Cena Asked For Time Off, Lana And Dolph Ziggler Note, WWE Stars In NYC, WWE Shop Sale

- Interestingly enough, WWE posted the video above on their YouTube channel this afternoon to promote the WWE Network looking at John Cena's return at the 2008 Royal Rumble after a near four-month absence from a torn pectoral muscle. As noted, Cena has been removed from all WWE televised and live events after WWE Hell In A Cell through December, including the European tour next month. WWE issued the statement below regarding Cena's absence:

"John Cena will not be appearing as part of WWE's European tour this November due to personal reasons."

It's interesting to note that the statement only made reference to Cena missing the European tour, even though he has been pulled from all shows after WWE Hell In A Cell until the December 30th WWE live event in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio today that Cena asked for the time off "sometime back in the summer." Meltzer confirmed that it was a personal issue, and not due to injury.
