TNA Impact Wrestling Results: Gail Kim Vs. Awesome Kong Main Event, James Storm Vs. Abyss, More

Video promo of EC3 bragging about his win over Bobby Lashley in the main event of last week's show. Josh hypes up tonight's edition, as Matt Hardy comes down to the ring for his match with Robbie E.

Robbie E. vs. Matt Hardy

Lock up and headlocks to start. Josh talks about Robbie being the underdog here. Robbie drags Matt to the corner and gets a two count off a spear. Robbie brawls and Matt gets sent to the outside and Robbie hits a senton off of the ring apron. Robbie smashes Matt against the barricade, throws him back in the ring but can barely get a 2 count. Matt fights back with a sleeperhold. Jawbreaker from Robbie. Robbie goes to the top but Matt is able to counter. He hits a Side Effect for a two count. He goes for the side effect again but Robbie counters with a giant clothesline and gets his own two count. Matt gets a powerbomb for the two. Matt goes for the top rope elbow but Robbie hits a boom drop. He still can't get the pin. Hardy hits the Side Effect and Twist of Fate to win the match. Hardy gets an additional three points. In a show of sportsmanship, Robbie E. and Matt shake hands afterwards.

Winner: Matt Hardy

Promo with Gail Kim. She tells us she has a chance to get to the World Title tonight and needs to go through Kong.

Matt Hardy talks about respecting Robbie E and the fight he put up in their wrestling match tonight. There's an odd comedy bit with Grado attempting to get a selfie with him.

Drew Galloway gets a hype promo and is now out for his match.


Drew Galloway vs. Grado

Grado actually looks quite credible here, with the idea that fighting Galloway is forcing him to up his game and be a serious athlete. Lock up and Drew goes for the takedown but Grado cartwheels out. Galloway goes after him with suplexes and punches. He hits the lariat. He hits a belly-to-belly for the two count. Drew taunts Grado and says he should step up. He slaps him straight across the face. Grado gets in a rock bottom. Roll and Slice. Brawling. He goes up top but Drew gets up and meets him there. Galloway wins the Claymore to get three points in the competition. Galloway has 6 points thus far.
Winner: Drew Galloway

Kong/Kim promo video. It really is fascinating how hot their feud was in 2008. For whatever reason, both women seem to have lost something since then, Kong in particular.

Aiden O'Shea vs. Crazzy Steve

O'Shea won with the clothesline to gain three points. Highlight here was probably Pope and Josh's back and forth on commentary as they marveled at Stevie's act.

Winner: Aiden O'Shea

Abyss does an interview and says it's time to bury his enemies and move on from his past. He wants his legacy back and will stop at nothing to achieve that. He doesn't need Storm or anyone to thrive.

James Storm video. We see the end of the Revolution. He is going to face Abyss next.

Abyss vs. James Storm

Storm tells Abyss he knows he is smart, so Abyss should leave now and lose this by countout. Abyss responds with a beat down. Bad plan, I guess. A few moments of brawling and Storm decides to take a breather and gets out of the ring. Outside, the guys are trading punches. Storm hits Abyss on the head with a water bottle. He sends him into the ringpost. Storm throws Abyss in the ring, grabs a chair and puts it into the ropes. Hebner tries to stop him but Storm ignores him completely. He grabs Abyss's head and tries to shove him into the chair but Abyss counters and sends Storm face-first into it instead. Abyss goes for the splash but only gets a two. Fans solidly behind Abyss. Abyss grabs Janice and Hebner flips out and tries to grab it. Abyss takes a swing at Storm but musses and it gets caught in the buckle. Storm hits the lungblower and uses the cowbell. Storm tries to get the pin but Abyss is able to kick out. Failed attempt to go up top by Abyss and Storm hits the elbowdrop. He goes for the Last Call finisher but Abyss hits the chokeslam. Kickout from Storm. Storm tries to crawl away as Abyss goes for the Black Hole Slam and is able to grab a beer bottle from underneath the ring. Earl takes the bottle. Abyss drags Storm back in and gets beer spit in his face. He hits the last call and it's all over.

Jeremy Borash interviews Mahabili Sheera to hype up the title series and the company's upcoming tour of India. Sheera says he will bring the title to India. Sheera takes on Kenny King next week.

The announcers hype up an exclusive Jeff Hardy interview on next weeks's show. The brief clip we see touches on the EC3 feud and Jeff's thoughts on Matt giving up the WHC belt.

Tigre Uno vs. Zema Ion

Zema won with the Slingshot Tornado DDT to get three points. Decent match with both guys doing as much as they could do in a not a whole lot of time. The final sequence, with Uno and Ion exchanging various quick, frantic cat-like high-flying moves was, in particular, quite good.

Gail Kim vs. Awesome Kong

The two girls circle each other for a few moments. This is quite tense. The fans seem to be solidly behind Kim. Lock up attempt but Kong throws Gail aside. Gail goes after Kong with a flurry of kicks and punches. Kim goes outside for a rest for a few seconds then gets back in the ring to and jumps on Kong for the arm submission. Kong fights out with the Irish whip and sends Gail hurtling to the floor. Ad break. Back from commercial and we see Kong dominating Gail. She goes for the sit-down splash but misses. Kim recovers in the corner and goes for the head-scissor take down but she can't do it and Kong clotheslines her. Kong stands on her and goes after her neck. Fans boo. Kong puts her in the sleeper, but Gail fights out and hits the jawbreaker. She follows it up with kicks and punches. Kong goes the head-scissors followed by the Octupus move but Kong catches her and sits on her for the two count. Kim gets up and dropkicks Kong onto the floor. Flying plancha from the ring! Kim waits for Kong to come back in. The ref starts the 10 count. Kong is able to break the count. Kim tries the head-scissors. She goes for the armbar but Kong gets out. Kim tries a crossbody on Kong but Kong is able to catch her and hit a body slam. Kong gets the two count. Kong tries the chokeslam but Kim DDTs out of it. Gail slowly gets up and attacks Kong with kicks. She runs and dropkicks her. She hits the moonsault and gets the 2. Some fighting in the corner. Kong goes for the backfist and powerbomb but Gail manages to counter with the hurricanrana. Kim wins.

Crowd gives the girls a rousing ovation. The announcers hype up Bobby Roode vs. Eric Young for next week.
