Lawrence Taylor Talks To Ric Flair About His WrestleMania Match, How He Liked It, Bam Bam Bigelow

On episode 19 of WOOOOO! Nation with Ric Flair, 'the Nature Boy' interviewed football great Lawrence Taylor. During the podcast, Taylor spoke about his main event match against Bam Bam Bigelow at WrestleMania 11.

According to Taylor, Vince McMahon reached out to Taylor to wrestle at WrestleMania 11, but it wasn't until Taylor met Bigelow that he decided to take part.

"I thought about it and then when I met Bam Bam, I decided, 'yeah, I can do this' and it was a great experience for me," Taylor recalled. "It was so different and it was exciting. The atmosphere we had, Salt-N-Pepa singing, and everything. It was just a great atmosphere."

Taylor said that Bigelow was very agile for a big man and extremely athletic. Also, Taylor acknowledged that professional wrestling is much more difficult than people think. Taylor admitted that performing in a team sport is much different than wrestling one on one because all eyes are on you in a wrestling match between two individuals.

Taylor said that performing at WrestleMania was fun because he got the opportunity to cross over from one sport to another, and, despite having a Hall of Fame career in the NFL, some people only know Taylor from his WrestleMania appearance.

"To this day, people come and say, 'hey, I know you! You were on WrestleMania 11!' and I say, 'Yeah, okay. That's one of the things I did! Yeah, okay!'."

At the end of the interview Taylor jokingly challenged Flair to a wrestling match. Flair countered by suggesting the two host a Super Bowl party together and charge fans $1,000 per head to party with them.

In addition to talking about Taylor's WrestleMania match, Taylor discussed his professional football career, partying with 'Naitch', and many other topics. To listen to the entire podcast, click here.
