- The Resurrection of Jake The Snake apparently made a big impression on the Slamdance Film Festival, where it premiered this past January. As Variety reported earlier this week, Slamdance will getting into theatrical distribution with the documentary. There will be a series of theatrical events for the movie, starting on September 2nd in Portland, Oregon with a screening at the Portland Film Festival with a special event hosted by UFC Superstar Chael Sonnen, a longtime wrestling fan himself. Cast and crew of the film will be in attendance for many of the screenings across the country for Q&A sessions and photo opportunities.

"If you would have told us what was in store for on this journey we may never have attempted it," Page told me recently. "But today we can look back and we know we made the right decisions. Whether you're a wrestling fan or not, this film WILL inspire you.

"We were looking for the right partner who knew just how passionate wrestling fans are and understood the importance of this film... we weren't just going to give it to anyone if they didn't get it," Page continued. "When the president of Slamdance (Peter Baxter) approached us, we knew we wanted to partner with him to make something really special happen."
