Jose Aldo Plans To "Run Over" Conor McGregor, UFC Title Fight Set, Anderson Silva - Nick Diaz Update

- UFC Featherweight champion Jose Aldo spoke to UFC Tonight this week about his decision to pull out of the huge UFC 189 bout with Conor McGregor. Also noted that he wasn't really impressed with the fight.

"Not really. It was a good fight to watch. It's exactly what I expected. When I'm with him in the cage, I'm going to run him over. He's not even going to see what went over him," said Aldo.

Still, it was a difficult decision for Aldo to back out of the bout due to injury. Aldo was set for a huge payday.

"Yes, it was very difficult. It was a very important fight. It was a very important decision, but I made the right decision," explained the champion Aldo.

Aldo also said that McGregor's interim championship doesn't bother him.

- UFC Tonight also reported that Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler will defend his title against Carlos Condit in the main event of UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia. Tyron Woodley, who defeated Condit last year, will take on Johny Hendricks at UFC 192 in a top contender's bout.

- Ariel Helwani updated the unusual Anderson Silva-Nick Diaz drug testing situation, saying that Anderson Silva thinks he may end up getting away with no punishment.

"Anderson Silva is quite sure there are some inaccuracies in his drug tests and he'll get off of everything. The disciplinary hearing is going to be held on August 13. Hopefully we'll get some conclusion to this. Nick Diaz's team has asked to reschedule his hearing."

Silva defeated Nick Diaz in a five round fight at UFC 183.
