Prince Puma Talks Lucha Underground, His Hour Long Match With John Morrison, Danny Trejo, More

Prince Puma has become one of the breakout stars of Lucha Underground during the company's short run on El Rey. In addition, he's held the brand's championship, defending it seven times as he dons the mask. When he isn't wearing his yellow mask, he's performing on the independent circuit as Ricochet, where he's found monumental success. Still, that success comes at a cost, as the high flyer told Kid Cadet in an interview recently.

"I'm always tired. I'm always doing something, traveling in a car, a plane, in an airport," said a visibly exhausted Puma. When the interviewer brought up Lucha Underground, he said it was available on El Rey which he joked "about five of you probably have."

On the latest edition of Lucha Underground, Puma defended his World Championship against former WWE superstar Johnny Mundo, better known as John Morrison. The two locked horns in an Iron Man match that spanned the entire hour-long episode.

"It was quite a match," Puma said. "It's not your general Iron Man match. Although we did wrestle for an hour, you don't get the whole match at once. You get the commercial breaks, the little vignettes, the little pieces that make Lucha Underground really cool. But you get good wrestling, which is provided by me."

Kid Cadet also asked Puma about the celebrity fans Lucha Underground has gained, noting that movie star Danny Trejo is often in attendance.

"That was really cool. He loved it. I didn't know how he'd feel about it. I remember one time he was right in the front and I did a dive outside, landed on my feet, and Danny Trejo was right there and I high fived him," Puma said.

Puma goes on to talk about his favorite matches, as well as several other topics before beatboxing. You can see the full interview above.
