Financial Analyst On Why WWE Is Doomed, NJPW Following WWE's Lead, Positive WWE Stock Media
- In the video above, Brian Sozzi of Belus Capital Advisors and Yahoo Finance's Jeff Macke debate the future of WWE. Sozzi named three reasons as to why the company is "doomed," citing aging talent, injuries and the uncertainty of what would happen to the company if Vince McMahon were not at the helm.
"If Vince McMahon were to drop dead today, who steps in?" Sozzi asked when noting that WWE's succession plan is unclear. "Ultimately everything you see on TV each week is the byproduct of Vince McMahon. He remains very in the trenches week to week and if you pull him out... what happens to the company longer term?"
- On the other end of the spectrum, The Motley Fool has an article here about the WWE Network reaching 1 million subscribers. The author of the article said that he believed in the company's ability to deliver on the Network, writing:
"So look for this to pay off with a higher number of subscribers and less churn going forward. WWE Network has great potential to be a robust revenue generator and reliable profit center. Keep your eyes on that TV set — or PC, or tablet, or smartphone — the service should begin notching big wins soon."
- You can sign up for the WWE Network, which is free for new subscribers this month, by clicking here. NJPW must have faith in the promotion, as they are offering their version of the Network – New Japan World – for free for this month as well.
