Mick Foley Talks Comedy Tour, WrestleMania, Wrestling The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar & More

As noted earlier, WWE legend Mick Foley was recently interviewed by Chris Van Vliet from WOIO and discussed a number of topics. During this sit-down, topics included; returning to WWE, his comedy tour, WrestleMania and more. Here are some of the highlights:

Why he left TNA to go back to WWE: "In my three years with Total Nonstop Action, I think exactly one person said, 'Hey, you're that guy from TNA.' [Laughs.] I'm a WWE guy, you know? I went away from home for a while. I was never one of those guys who said, 'I'm never going back there.' I knew I'd eventually end up back there. I enjoyed my time away but [WWE] is still home. It's still home."

On what his comedy tour is like: "It's mediocre. Nothing to leave home — no, it's good. [Laughs.] ... No, you don't (have to be a wrestling fan to enjoy it). Here's the funny thing; wrestling fans think you have to be a wrestling fan because they want to feel special. They don't want to admit that it's for everybody. For me to say it's just for wrestling is like saying you had to be a tool guy to enjoy Tim Allen's thing or you have to be Hispanic to enjoy this guy. Or you have to be a Cable Guy to enjoy Larry...maybe you have to be a cable guy to enjoy him. [Laughs.] No, he's good, man.

"But, I mean, maybe I'm bias, but the sports-entertainment world is so wild, wonderful and incredible that almost all the stories are like the ones from my book: the most unbelievable things that happened are backstage. So, you take a guy like me and I've been traveling for 27 years and you get some good stories. They're going to resonate with people whether they're wrestling fans or not.

On his favorite match from this year's WrestleMania: "Well, if WrestleMania is a banquet ... to me, the main course was Triple H and The Undertaker. I had said on my Twitter that wise money says never bet against The Undertaker at 'Mania when you're trying to determine the real main event. That being said: Punk and Jericho had a great match. I thought The Rock and Cena — I really enjoyed their match. I'd go so far as to say it was great. But there was just that special feeling about The Undertaker and Triple H.

On the rumors that he may be The Undertaker's opponent for WrestleMania 29: "Well, I was the guy that started those rumors. [Laughs.] Look, I couldn't have had the type of match with The Undertaker that Triple H did. Honestly, I just can't do it like that anymore. If my career was like a Smorgasbord, I'd say that we're having the after dinner tea and that's kind of what I did with Santino with the sock and the Cobra. And people really enjoyed that.

"I'll tell you something, brother: I've gotten a standing ovation like 7 or 8 times in my career from the guys backstage. Say it was 8, like an 8 course meal. 7 of those times, I'd come back and I'd almost need the stretcher. 'Oh, you did it!' I'd be like, 'Oh! STAT.' I remembered them all except Hell in a Cell. The other time I got a standing ovation was when Santino and I did the sock and the Cobra stand-off. We came back and people were ecstatic and I was like, 'Well, that didn't really hurt anything but my pride.'

On the return of Brock Lesnar to WWE and his match vs. John Cena at Extreme Rules: "I've watched a lot of pay-per-views and it had a room full of people who've watched a lot of pay-per-views reacting in a way that was completely different than anything I'd seen before. It was really shocking, very dramatic. Honestly, I wish they would have stopped it. John Cena was hurt bad enough that they should have stopped it. It would have been an ending unlike anything I've ever seen in WWE. An early stoppage of a match due to injury?

"It was dramatic. Brock brings a whole new dynamic to that bad guy thing. I was trying to explain (this) to this kid who was getting really down because he gets picked on because he wears a John Cena t-shirt. This is a true story. I said, 'No one else knows John Cena. I know John Cena and I'm telling you that he's one of the nicest people I've ever met.' He goes, 'But, that's because he's a good guy.' I said, 'No, I'm not talking about good guys and bad guys. I'm talking about good people and John Cena is a good person.'

"So the guy looks me and me and he was like 7 or 8-years-old and he goes, 'So, Brock Lesnar's a good person, too?' I said, 'No, Brock's really mean.' [Laughs.] He is mean and he's a mean guy. He means it. Everyone else when they talk about WWE, 'I just want to the WWE Universe.' It takes a lot of guys to say that I don't care about walking through that curtain. I don't care about those people out there. I care about me. It's pretty heavy."
