WWE Partners For French Film, CM Punk To Cameo
WWE Studios has partnered with Kare Prods. on the French movie "Les Reines du ring" (Queen of the Ring), reports Variety. Warner Bros. Entertainment France will distribute the movie, which is about a mother looking to strengthen her bond with her estranged son who is a WWE fan and trains to become a WWE Diva.
The movie will feature WWE trademarks, footage, consumer products and cameos by WWE Champion CM Punk, The Miz and Eve Torres, who recently shot their appearances for the film while on tour in France.
WWE Studios will receive first-look rights to distribute the film in the U.S. and Canada as part of the deal. It also includes the rights to remake the film in English.
The report also notes that Brodus Clay will star in the horror thriller No One Lives with Luke Evans, which we reported last year. Other upcoming movies for WWE Studios include the IM Global co-production Dead Man Down, with Colin Farrell, The Day, a pickup from the Toronto Intl. Film Festival and Barricade, with Eric McCormack.
