Tons More Of YOUR Feedback On Andrew 'Test' Martin
Here are some more great reader comments and stories about the late Andrew 'Test' Martin. Thanks so much for all the feedback! I'm sure he's looking down from somewhere reading all of these.
Hey Ryan: This is Dr. Gary Huddleston, and I am called the "Wrestling Doc", since I have been a chiropractor for so many pro shows, ranging from WCW, to WWE to TNA, and some indies as well. I had known Andrew for some time, simply because of what I do. My last meeting with him was simple, at the lunch table when the talent and I were eating at one of the TV venues. He came over and sat down, and we talked about custom motorcycles, since we both had an interest in them. Nothing special, just a "hey man, how ya doing, and good to see you." We shook hands, and off we both went to do our job. Dr. Gary Huddleston
Test was always one of my favorite performers whether he was a heel or face. He was just so entertainig and a really good performer. Test should have been a main eventer. He was so agile and WWE should have made him a world champion. Espically when he came back to WWE in 2006 to ECW. I think they should have made him win the ECW World Championship My favorite test moments was when he and Stacy Keibler were backstage and Stacy held up a shirt and turned it around and it said "Testicles". That made me laugh so hard because it was so random that someone would have a shirt that read Testicles in hot pink on a black t-shirt. And then when you could tell that at anytime Test was going to turn heel and Stacy seen him backstage reading a WWE magazine and Stacy asked to read it and he said that he was really into an article and then it showed Torrie Wilson in one of her Playboy shots. R.I.P Test we will never forget your great moments – Nate Stollard

Andrew "test" Martin. kevin " MADD Dogg" Epejesi
I couldn't believe my eyes when I checked today. Test is no longer with us. Test was one of the most hardworking wrestler's I have ever seen. My favorite memory of Test was when he came back to ECW in 2006 and eliminated Hardcore Holly in the extreme elimination chamber at the Extreme Rules Elimination Chamber at ECW Dismember to Dismember. (Mona Winters)
My favorite memory of test is probably his match at survivor series 2001 with my favorite wrestler edge. i know it meant a lot to both of those candians to make it to that together, and they put on a great match. edge talks about that match in his book about it meaning a lot to him, and i was happy to see it put on edge's dvd. i know that match will now live in my heart forever, and even though test lost his intercontinental title that night, i know that both of them had the time of their lives, and they were happy. and thats the way i like to remember andrew martin. as a happy man. I checked a report on Fox Sports MSN and read the following: "Martin joins a long list of young wrestlers who prematurely died, most from causes stemming from substance-abuse. Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Mike "Crash Holly" Lockwood and Bryan "Crush" Adams are among Martin's WWE contemporaries who have passed away." This is what I would like to consider a full load of BS! The underlined statement has NO meaning in the article, which was extremly informational and non-judgmental in the death. I feel, as an up and coming professional wrestler, that the underlined statement is AGAIN another attempt to tell the world that the professional wrestling industry is full of steriods and drugs and alcohol. And while some professional wrestlers do indeed use these things, I beilive that with the underlined statement that writer Alex Marvez is trying to kick a dead horse! And by using exact names in his list of professional wrestlers he is taking direct shots to not only the WWE but to every single professional wrestler, and to every kid who wants to be a professional wrestler. I personally knew Eddie Guerrero. I was friends with his nephew, and his entire family, and loved and respected him greatly. As I grew older I began to admire him, and want to always be like him. Eddie Guerrero's death was caused by a heart failure, that even docter's have said may have been triggered by his past substance abuse, but doubtfully. So why do YOU Mr. Marvez try and throw his name out into the names of wrestler's who have died at a young age? Is it because you personally feel the need to sterotype every single professional wrestler as a substance abusing loser who will die young?? Brian "Crush" Adams, died from an accidently overdose of pain killers and anti-depressents that BOTH were prescribed to him by his docter. Now Mr. Marvez, if an autopsy did infact show that there were NO steriods or any type of other drug in his system, tell me is THAT abuse? My mother has a back that is surgeclly repaired, and infact isn't even repaired, she has not a single disk in her back that has NOT been replaced. And she takes basically a cock tail of pills every day just to try to releive herself of some of the pain that she's in, and by you putting Adam's name on this list your telling me that if my mom takes one too many pills she's an abuser?! To be quite frank Mr. Marvez that's not completly fair, infact that's what you call ignorance, again proving that your listing of his name is invalid and completly irrelavant. Now Mr. Marvlez tell me this: How come Brian Pillman isn't on your list? He died at the age of 35 he makes your your criteria of wrestlers that died before he was 45, but how come he isn't on your list? Brain Pillman had a rare genetic heart diease that also caused the death of his father. But non the less he had died. Another question Mr. Marvlez How come Owen Hart isn't on your list? Owen Hart died at age 34 because of a malfunction in equipment during a live PPV. By why isn't he on your list? He's gone from us as well, but yet somehow he escaped from your memory huh? Your article Mr. Marvlez is extremly biased and trying to make the situation more then it is, I beilive that the final two paragraph's in your article are not needed, and are simply there to bring some type of drama, to an already dramatic situation. I'm not sure if you've ever lost a loved one, but losing somebody dear to you, is a heart breaking tragedy, and the last thing you want is for some reporter to stir up even more attention and to hint at something that's completly false, and cannot be backed with support. Your supporting evidence is that Andrew Martin tested postive in 2007 for drugs, but in your article you do not mention what drugs exactly he was on, because you, like the rest of the wrestling community, do not know, meaning it could be something as simple as a little weed. And Mr. Mavlez last time I checked there was a whole 0 cases of people dying because they smoked pot. In conclusion Mr. Marvlez I beilive that your attempts to make this unfortante tragedy into something more are unneeded and more importantly a sad attempt to try and sterotype the wrestling world. As of right now your claims are an unnecessary attack on the entire professional wrestling world. Nathan Benavidee https://www.myspace.com/jeff_x_78108
Watching wrestling since the age of 4, i've seen ALOT of wreslters come and go, but when i saw that test had died i was really gutted. He was generally one of the best "big men" in wrestling imo. i can remember Test well, from events such as him and stephanie, The union, Unamericans, T&A and shanes bodyguard in the corporation. When he came back to ECW in 2007 i was really excited because i'd always thought of him as a great wrestler. I liked him that much, i remember playing WWF attitude (the game) years and years back, trying to finish the career with everyone, becuase i heard a rumour i could play as him. He will be greatly missed and my condolences go out to all his family and friends. RIP Test. (Luke Weetman)
I;ve met a few wrestlers over the years, but sadly more have passed away than are still living. Of my favorites, only Chris Jericho and Batista are still around. The three nicest ones have left us. Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit and now Test. I met Test not long before the angle with Stephanie. They had a house show in Columbus, GA and me and one of my friends want to Hooters afterwards. Some of the guys came in and we just said hi and got a hand shake didn't bug them for any autographs. Test was one of the last and actually sat at the table next to us. I was wearing my Stone Cold t-shirt and he asked if we liked the show. Just casual conversation. Well, the one thing I'll never in my life forget was when our bill came without hesitation he grabbed it and said it was his treat. When I asked him why he simply told me it was because we treated the guys with respect and didn;t mark out when they showed up like usually happens. The next time they came to town I had front row seats and when he came out for his match he remembered me and came up after his match and asked if Id be at Hooters later. He was very classy that night and picked up the bill again. Rest in Peace Andrew, I'll never forget you. (Lee Marion)
I don't even know what to say. My heart goes out to Andrew's family. its horrible that test passed away at such a young age. I remeber growing up watching the WWF/E and seeing Test, and hearing "Test,Test,Test,Test". It's just wierd that I will never hear anything new about him. My favorite match by Test was the elemination match for the ECW Championship, he did such a good job in the match, and sold everything perfectly. Another one is when he fueded with edge and faught him for the WCW United States Championship and Intercontinen Championship. I just cant believe he's gone. He was such a nice guy,and a great wrestler. Andrew you will be missed.
R.I.P Andrew " Test " Martin, March 17,1975 – March 13 2009. you will be missed! (Eric Melo)
I live in Houston and a few years ago when Booker T was in WWE and owned a music/clothing store, he had advertised a big talent (cant remember who)to sign autographs at his store. Long story short the talent didn't show so Test gladly filled his spot. Upon hearing this most people left so there was only about 6 of us who stayed, but talk about a nice guy. He signed autographs took pictures and just plain hung out with us. A great experience by it self but that night at raw I had ringside tix and after his match he regognized me from earlier and came by to shake hands. He will truley be missed Eric from Houstons.
After learning the news of Andrew "Test" Martin, I was quite shocked. I've watched wrestling for well over a decade and a half now. But there's no doubt that Andrew "Test" Martin was an extraordinary talent. It's no secret that I was a huge fan of him along with the two others that went along with him, Edge and Christian. The Edge vs. Test rivalry for the IC/US Title at Survivor Series 2001 is one match I remember watching. Upon hearing the news of Test's first release from WWE while recovering from his neck injury, I was pissed off that they didn't give him a chance to actually recover and set a time to come back. I was pretty excited to hear that he was coming back just two years or so afterwards. When he came back to WWE on the ECW brand, I thought Test would quickly ascend from the ranks and become ECW Champion. Sadly, it never happened. Test had the potential to become a great champion, and I could understand why WWE didn't give him the opportunity given his past issues. After his second release, I instantly expected him to jump ship to TNA, which he did..but not for long. I remember going to a SmackDown Live event two years back, and I remember seeing a guy ( who I believe was in FCW's developmental territory) and it instanly reminded me of Test. I was impressed by this guy's talent the same way I was with Test's when I first saw him on WWE TV just a decade ago. It's a shame that a great talent like him left this world far too early in life. I will most certainly miss him Adam T.
