WWE's Bronson Reed Feels He Has A Bigger 'Gas Tank' After Physical Transformation
Bronson Reed has returned to WWE and has done so both in a big way and in a slimmer way. Indeed, the Australian star and Vision member came back 100 lbs lighter than when he left with a torn biceps injury in the winter, and is quite happy with his new appearance for several reasons. In an appearance on "The West Sport," Reed listed some of those reasons, from his smaller look allowing him to do more in the ring to him now having even more energy than he had.
"I think, for me, I've always been able to have a pretty good gas tank for a big guy," Reed said. "I move around and I can keep up in 15 minute matches and stuff like that. But now, getting into the upper echelon of things, I've worked with people like Roman Reigns and champions and stuff like that. And I want to stay up atop the main event scene.
"Now you're going to be able to see me do 20 to 25 minute matches without blowing up, or even questioning the fact like 'Oh man, maybe because he's bigger, he's not going to be able to last as long.' So I think that's a big thing that I've noticed from training at the Performance Center and in the ring and stuff like that, is that I just have a much better gas tank. But you are right. There's some tricks that maybe off the top rope, and different things that I can do now, that I can employ out of my arsenal."
Reed Says New Look Is Better For Overall Health
Being able to do more moves or work slightly longer in the ring wasn't the only motivation Reed had for slimming down. Another key factor was that Reed sees the business as always changing, and he felt it was imperative that he returned to WWE a little bit different than when he left. His look was the change he settled upon.
"A big thing is constantly evolving in this business," Reed said. "And I think a way I could look different or evolve in this time while I've been injured was to change my appearance. So I really stuck to my nutrition and strength and conditioning through a coach here in Australia. And I think you're going to see the benefits of that when I return."
Reed did admit that he was a bit nervous about the change, as his ability to perform at a high level at his previous size is something he felt made him stand out from the rest of the roster. Ultimately, Reed believes he can still stand out at this new size by doing more, while also noting that being slimmer would be a massive benefit to his health.
"I think those factors have always come in to play, and me being as big as I was, it made me an attraction," Reed said. "You know, you get to see this massive dude move around the ring and do things that other people can't do. But in the same frame of minding is that I was able to change myself to where now I can do other stuff that I wasn't able to do beforehand, and you're going to see new tricks from me now. And it's better for my overall health and joints and stuff like that as well."
