WWE 205 Live Results (4/17): Tornado Tag Team Match, Buddy Murphy, Mustafa Ali In Action

Tonight will feature Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado vs. Hideo Itami and Akira Tozawa in a Tornado Tag Team Match.

- Vic Joseph and Percy Watson welcome us in and send congrats to Nigel McGuinness for having a baby girl. They preview that tonight Drake Maverick will address Buddy Murphy, plus the Tornado Tag Team Match.

- Backstage, Dasha Fuentes talks with Ariya Daivari who wants his shot and wants to put Ali in the back of the line.

Mustafa Ali vs. Ariya Daivari

Ali with a hurricanrana and a quick cover. Daviari having trouble early on, but turns things around as he focuses on Ali's back. Hits a backbreaker, pin, two-count. Plants him to the mat again, cover, two, and goes right to the injured back. Ali gets back into it, whipping Daivari into the corner, big chops, and ends up on the apron. Kick to the head, tries for a rolling facebuster into the ring, nope, gets dropped, pin, two.

"You blew it at WrestleMania!" Daivari yells. He then gets sent out to the floor, Ali charges in and gets a spinebuster on the floor. Action back in the ring, Daivari up to the top rope, frog splash, cover, two-count. Ali put up on the top rope, forearms to the back. Daivari tries for a belly-to-back suplex, Daivari flips back onto his feet, heads up to the top rope again for the 054, 1-2-3.

Winner: Mustafa Ali via Pinfall

- Last Tuesday, we see Cedric Alexander talking with Ali and Buddy Murphy attacking the champion from behind.

- Drake Maverick wanted to have Alexander face Buddy Murphy at the Greatest Royal Rumble, but earlier today during the weigh-in Murphy didn't make weight! Instead, next week there will be a 205 Live Gauntlet Match and the winner gets to face Alexander.

Jack Gallagher and The Brian Kendrick vs. Vinny and Kevin (Local Competitors)

Gallagher drops Vinny with ease and lands some hefty strikes. Kendrick comes in and drops some elbows on his opponent. Vinny tries to fight back, but that's short lived as he flips out of a suplex and tags in his partner. Kevin runs in and gets a dropkick to the mug. Kendrick takes a shot to the face and he looks really bothered by that. Tires for sliced bread number two, nope, ends up tagging Gallagher in. Gallagher slams his opponent's face on the apron a couple times. Gallagher enters the ring and gets a few forearms to the face. Kendrick tags in, Gallagher with a headbutt, Kendrick locks in the captain's hook for the submission victory.

Winners: Jack Gallagher and The Brian Kendrick via Submission

- Backstage, Ali talks with Dasha who asks about Murphy not making weight. Ali says Murphy ruined Alexander's moment last week and hopes Alexander gets his hands on Murphy. Until then, there's opportunity and he doesn't plan on letting an opportunity slip through his hands a second time.

- Backstage, Drew Gulak talks about how his ground game was shown to be superior yet again last week. He says he has bigger goals than dealing with Tony Nese. He will be in next week's gauntlet match and says if anyone steps to him "You. Will. Tap. Out."

Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado vs. Hideo Itami and Akira Tozawa (Tornado Tag Team Match)

Things get started quickly, double superkicks by Dorado and Metalik followed up by double suicide dives. Kalisto is not out ringside, Maverick on commentary and says he wants the odds as fair as possible and asked Kalisto to stay in the back. Dorado splash on Tozawa and boot Metalik to the outside. Everybody on the floor, Tozawa with a reverse cannonball off the second rope. "Ah!" chants get going as Tozawa and Itami stomp away at Dorado.

Tozawa heads out to the floor to work on Metalik. Itami drops Dorado, cover, one-count. Splash in the corner, double team moves, cover, two-count. Dorado caught in an armbar and gets completely tied up in the ring. Tozawa does the same to Metalik. Metalik ends up just falling down on Itami and Dorado to break up both submissions. Metalik is dumped out on the floor as Dorado slaps Itami in the face and gets it right back.

Itami trying to rip off Dorado's mask, Tozawa comes over to help stomp away at Dorado. Itami and Tozawa really beating the heck out of Dorado in this one. Metalik finally gets into this one with a dropkick, does some rope walking, hits another move, tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Both Itami and Tozawa on the floor, dual top rope moonsaults from both Metalik and Dorado!

Dorado gets sent into the stairs and flips hard over them! Tozawa in the ring and flips over the top rope to take out Metalik. Metalik is knocked on the table, Tozawa heads to the top rope, but Dorado ends up crotching him on the top rope. Itami climbs up too, but gets dropped down for a moment. Metalik is up on the apron now. All four wrestlers on the top for a powerbomb/suplex combo with all four guys. Dorado tries to end the match, no luck, Tozawa with a flying senton, cover, Metalik runs and stomps on Tozawa to break it up. Handspring off the ropes, gets kicked in the back. Itami with a boot to the face, cover, Dorado breaks it up.

Dorado with a springboard double stunner, falls back for a double pin, only two though. Crowd really enjoying this one, gives it a "this is awesome!" chant. Itami with a running dropkick on Dorado, Metalik is in there now, tries for Metalik driver, Itami tries to rip off Metalik's mask. Tozawa goes to kick Metalik, but catches Itami. Both Metalik and Dorado off the top rope, 1-2-3.

Winners: Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado via Pinfall

- Post-match, Kalisto runs out and celebrates with his guys.
