Daniel Bryan On Feeling Like He Can Wrestle, If Incident With The Miz Was Scripted, More (Video)

Above is video from this week's "Off The Top Rope" segment on ESPN SportsCenter with Jonathan Coachman looking at Kevin Owens winning the WWE Universal Title on RAW and Daniel Bryan's biggest moments.

Coach was then joined by the SmackDown General Manager. Coach asks how retirement has been for Bryan and he says it's been tough. Bryan says we will get to see all the heartache and depression on Total Bellas but he's doing great now. Bryan says he loves being around WWE, gets to see his friends and gets to see the action. Coach asks what the hard part is and he talks about finding what he should be focusing his attention on because he's wrestled his entire life. Bryan admits it's been really tough having to watch matches without being able to get in the ring. He recalls getting frustrated to wife Brie Bella and threatening to quit WWE to work the indies but she calms him down and reminds him that they're trying to start a family.

Bryan says he keeps trying to convince people that he can wrestle but says that's the hard part as he's often trying to convince himself as well. Bryan says he was cleared by a lot of concussion specialists but flagged by one test and the more he learns about that test, the more he thinks maybe that should not have stopped him. Bryan says there's a lot more than we realize but he feels great and feels everyday like he can wrestle. Bryan says he feels 100%.

Regarding WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz and their recent exchange on Talking Smack, Bryan says he knew very little of that was coming. The two have known each other for a long time and really know how to get on the others nerves. Bryan says Miz knows he doesn't like the way he wrestles but Miz also knows that Bryan's in-ring status is personal to him. Miz knows that Bryan is constantly having feelings about wanting to wrestle on the indies if WWE won't clear him, and that calling him out on that would be pushing a nerve. Bryan says part of him wanted to punch Miz in the face but that probably wouldn't be a good idea on live TV. Bryan says it will be interesting to see how the two move forward but he believes WWE will keep them apart for the time being. Bryan says he has a huge amount of respect for The Miz and wants him to do well but they sometimes have to stay away from each other, especially now that SmackDown is live.
