Vince McMahon Working Backstage This Week, Update On Goldberg Coming Into NYC For SummerSlam Week

- The rumor mill heated up on Monday when news on Bill Goldberg's scheduled WWE SummerSlam weekend appearance came out. As noted, the appearances are related to the WWE 2K17 video game. Then, WWE pulled a video shortly after posting it that had Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman hyping the WWE 2K17 game with Lesnar warning Goldberg that he was next. That video was re-added during RAW.

F4Wonline.com points out that the report was somewhat overplayed as Goldberg has always been expected to be at Friday's 2K Sports media event in New York City because he's a key figure in the marketing of the game and his deal called for multiple media appearances to promote the game. Goldberg is actually coming to New York for 2K, not WWE, but it is very possible that there could be some talks with people in WWE while he's in town. Goldberg will be flying into New York after appearing at the biggest gaming convention in the world on Thursday in Cologne, Germany – GamesCon.

- We noted before via The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Vince McMahon had missed a few weeks of WWE TV tapings and wasn't scheduled to be back until SummerSlam. In an update, Vince was backstage at last night's RAW in Corpus Christi. While he was away for two weeks, Vince continued to micromanage every detail of RAW and SmackDown, and was on the phone with agents during production meetings.
