Backstage News On What Roman Reigns Tested Positive For, Why It Is Banned

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the word going around backstage is that Roman Reigns tested positive for Adderall. While the drug is used to treat ADHD, it is banned by most sports leagues – including the NFL, MLB and NCAA – because it can mask fatigue and pain, and it can make people more alert.

Meltzer added that WWE doesn't release what substance people are suspended for, so this isn't official, however that is the word backstage from "multiple sources."

This combination medication is used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder – ADHD. It works by changing the amounts of certain natural substances in the brain.

Amphetamine/dextroamphetamine belongs to a class of drugs known as stimulants. It can help increase your ability to pay attention, stay focused on an activity, and control behavior problems. It may also help you to organize your tasks and improve listening skills.

This drug is also used to treat a certain sleeping disorder (narcolepsy) to help you stay awake during the day. It should not be used to treat tiredness or to hold off sleep in people who do not have a sleep disorder.
