John Cena Not On WWE SmackDown After Brand Split?

As noted, it's been recently reported that John Cena is favored to headline the SmackDown brand after the brand split and SmackDown goes live on July 19th. It was expected that Roman Reigns would headline the RAW brand.

While everything is always subject to change, several readers noted that the advertising for the first live SmackDown on July 19th now includes a Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins main event, which is likely a dark match. Other stars advertised for the show include Dean Ambrose, AJ Styles, Kevin Owens and WWE Women's Champion Charlotte.

Tickets for the following week's SmackDown at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, NY go on sale tomorrow, and they have also released advertising with the same stars – Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, AJ Styles, Kevin Owens and Charlotte – as well as the New Day.

I wouldn't read too much into it right now, although it is interesting that all the updated post-brand split SmackDown advertising features Reigns and not Cena. However, the advertising also lists AJ Styles, who is expected to feud with Cena this summer unless their program is dropped after their expected match at WWE Money In The Bank.
