Vince Russo Says That WrestleMania Is Crucial For The WWE, Which Two Stars They Need To Bank On

While WrestleMania is always a financial success, it isn't always necessarily a critical success. However, as we've seen in recent years, an underwhelming build doesn't always mean we'll see a bad show.

Vince Russo has participated in his fair share of WrestleMania shows, and thinks that this Sunday's event is an important one for the company. As ratings have fallen year after year, capitalizing on an event that will have mainstream eyes on it is crucial.

On the newest edition of Nuclear Heat, Vince Russo says he's surprised that the build has been so weak.

"I think this WrestleMania in particular is vital for the WWE. If they come off a lackluster show with no interest as the show ends, it's going to be hard to build viewership moving forward. Usually there's a spike the month before WrestleMania, creative goes balls to the wall to get hyped for the event. The build for the event has been somewhat lackluster," said Russo.

Russo also said that he sees two big names as being major cogs for the WWE as they move forward, although if they don't work out, it's not necessarily their fault. Russo puts the responsibility on Vince McMahon and the creative team.

"I feel there are two guys that the focus has to be on. I feel there are two guys who are going to determine where the WWE goes from here. All they can do is get in the ring and tear it up, and they do. I'm talking about creatively, talking about storyline, I'm talking about positioning in the company, taking these guys to the next level. That's all up to creative and Vince McMahon. The two guys I'm talking about are Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose.
