CM Punk - WWE Rumors, Joe Rogan Rips Punk In UFC, Ronda Rousey Apologizes For Photo, Rousey - SI

- Joe Rogan was recently critical on his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, of CM Punk's impending UFC debut. Rogan said that it was "ridiculous" that Punk's first fight was in the UFC, and suggested that Punk take some fights on the independent circuit before fighting in the world's largest MMA organization.

"I don't know what's going to happen with that guy. I don't understand this whole thing," Rogan said, via Newsweek. "I also think it's ridiculous for him to fight in the UFC. I think he should fight in a small organization. Take a fight in a small organization, build yourself up. I have always said that's what should have happened with Brock Lesnar."

- As noted, John Cena raised some eyebrows over the weekend when he posted a seemingly-CM Punk related Instagram post. He posted a photo of Paul Newman in the movie Slapshot – which is the same photo that Punk has been using for his Twitter account for a while now – which led to online speculation that Punk was returning to WWE. Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that there's nothing to the story as Punk is signed to a multi-year contract with the UFC, and he isn't exactly on the best of terms with WWE with the lawuit against him by WWE physician Chris Amaan. Not to mention that Punk just underwent back surgery less than two weeks ago.

- Alfred Konuwa has an article at Forbes looking at how Punk one day returning to WWE one day could be big business. He noted that if Punk were to one day return to WWE it would almost certainly not be as a full time wrestler, and Punk might not be physically cleared by the company anyway. He wrote:

"With WWE leaving no stone unturned when it comes to wrestler safety and concussions, there's no guarantee that Punk will even be able to step into the ring for one last match. But with so many possibilities outside of the ring that carry more intrigue (Hall of Fame, anyone?), he doesn't have to."

- Ronda Rousey apologized to fans for unknowingly posting a photoshopped photo of herself from her appearance on The Tonight Show last week. Apparently she was given the photo to share on social media, but it had been altered to make her arms look smaller.

"I have to make an apology to everyone – I was sent a picture to share on social for Fallon that was altered without me knowing to make my arms look smaller," Rousey wrote on Instagram. "I won't say by who – I know it was done with severely misplaced positive intentions – but this goes against everything I believe and I am extremely proud of every inch of my body. And I can assure you all it will never happen again. I could not be more appalled and hope you all forgive me."
