Backstage Talk On Why WWE Signed Daria From Tough Enough, Photos Of Her WWE NXT Look
We noted a while back that Daria Berenato was one of several WWE Tough Enough competitors that the company signed after the show ended. She's been training at the WWE Performance Center and has worked a few NXT events.
It was noted in The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Daria was signed as a favor to WWE celebrity friend Maria Menounos, who appears to be longtime friends with Daria and a co-worker on Afterbuzz TV. It was also reported that she was signed because WWE wanted an openly gay female on their roster.
We noted recently that Daria was using the "Jersey Devil" nickname at NXT live events. Because she did some amateur MMA fights before Tough Enough, they've given her a MMA look and style in NXT:
