NJPW On AXS Recap (9/26): Shinsuke Nakamura Vs. Shibata, Title Match, Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi, More

Welcome to Wrestling Inc's coverage of New Japan Pro Wrestling on AXS. Tonight's matches feature showdowns from November 8, 2014 at the Bodymaker Colosseum.

- We get highlights of a very hard-hitting battle between Hirooki Goto and Tomohiro Ishii. These two beat the living hell out of each other, which is a tradition when either of the two compete. Tomohiro Ishii wins with an Ishii Driller to retain the NEVER Openweight Championship. After the match Togi Makabe comes to the ring and gets in Ishii's face.

- One of the best feuds in wrestling continues as we see highlights of Okada & YOSHI-HASHI vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi & Kota Ibushi. This match is an awesome clash of styles, as we have the high flying, fast paced work of Ibushi going against the nice mix that Okada brings. Ibushi ends up pinning YOSHI-HASHI with a beautiful Phoenix Splash.

IWGP Intercontinental Championship (November 2014)
Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. Katsuyori Shibata

The two have an extended grappling exchange on the ground, with the two ending up in a 50-50 guard. They end up exchanging hard strikes before the action goes outside. Shibata gets sent over the rails, but eats a big kick as he gets back in the ring.

We come back from a commercial to see the two smacking the hell out of each other, until Nakamura hits a big back suplex. Shibata finds it within himself to answer with a German suplex, but both men are down and out for a while.

Shibata tries to set up for the PK with a sleeper, but ends up getting a knee to the face from the second rope. Nakamura goes for a Boma Ye and instead runs into a flying Shibata, who drills the champion with a big dropkick. Shibata slugs Nakamura with big kicks and lands the GTS, but it only gets two, which shocks the crowd.

Nakamura catches a penalty kick and hits two big Boma Ye knees to the head of Shibata, but they don't get the job done. He charges up and hits a another huge one, and this one earns him the victory.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura via pinfall (Boma Ye) to retain the IWGP Intercontinental Championship (November 2014)

Nakamura takes the mic and and says he's looking for a "joker." Kota Ibushi comes out and German suplexes Nakamura and accepts his challenge. Nakamura asks the crowd what he should do, and they go wild.
