Finish In SmackDown Divas Match Doesn't Go As Planned

WWE has been behind their self-named "Divas revolution" of late, seeing their female talent get more time in matches, more segments on shows and more attention in general. However, it hasn't been without hiccups.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, the Charlotte & Becky Lynch vs. Naomi and Sasha Banks this week on SmackDown had a finish that wasn't originally planned. Meltzer said that although he's yet to see the match, he was told that the match was supposed to go several more minutes, and even an additional segment.

The finish occurred when Charlotte wrapped up Naomi in a small package, only to have the momentum reversed and pinned by Naomi. Charlotte didn't look like she had struggled to kick out or anything of that nature, but either way, Naomi came away with the pin.

The match, coupled with the original Charlotte vs. Naomi match that got turned into a tag match, stretched into 3 segments and went nearly 20 minutes with entrances.

Naomi was visibly frustrated on-screen, even after picking up the win. Meltzer noted that Naomi probably shouldn't have acted that way, since she just won a match on television, and would have been better served to play it off as if it were meant to happen.
