ESPN And Jonathan Coachman Talk "Rowdy" Roddy Piper's Death

The passing of WWE Hall Of Famer "Rowdy" Roddy Piper is getting a lot of mainstream attention, including that of ESPN. The sports station covered the former Intercontinental Champion's death, and had former WWE employee Jonathan Coachman speak about Piper.

Coachman attributed much of the success of WrestleMania to Piper, and talked about his ability to work with anyone the WWE had.

"He's one of those guys in professional wrestling, 'respect' is the world that we live by. If that first WrestleMania didn't go the way that it did, the WWE probably wouldn't be in existence," Coachman said.

Coach also commented on the fact that so many former pro wrestlers have passed away in recent years, and talked about the emotional connections that fans have with the stars they grew up watching.

"Unfortunately, several of these icons and legends have passed away in the last 10-15 years. It's very sad, and anyone really 35 or older connects with what Roddy Piper was all about, and his heel persona" he said.
