The Rock's New Movie Exceeds Expectations, Is Set To Be His Biggest Opener

The Rock's new movie, San Andreas, grossed $18.2 million on Friday.

Variety notes that the weekend cume for the film is estimated to be $47 million, which would be the biggest opening for The Rock not including the Fast & Furious franchise. It also easily beats early estimates of a $40 million opening.
