ESPN Releases Colin Cassady Short As Companion To WWE E:60 Documentary

As they did in advance of the show with the Tyler Breeze short we posted yesterday, ESPN released a second short when E:60 ended its premiere broadcast. This one, which features Bill "Colin Cassady" Morrissey, is a few minutes shorter, clocking in a six minutes long. Both consist entirely of footage that didn't air in the ESPN documentary special

Highlights of the Cassaday short include:

* The explanation that he was pre-med at NYU (where he was also playing basketball) and studying for his medical school admission tests when he realized he didn't have the passion to go to school for four more years.

* Footage of Billy Gunn coaching a rehearsal of Cassady's loss to Mason Ryan at a 2013 NXT taping. Cassady explains that it's not about winning and losing, it's about entertaining...but it may be difficult for him to get over if he's losing too many matches.

* A NXT production meeting (presumably from about the same time) where the room debates whether it may be time to cut bait on Cassaday. Jim Ross questions acting rashly, asking if he knows he's on a timeline, and Bill DeMott chimes in that he's a smart kid, so he should have an awareness of when WWE wants him ready. Paul "Triple H" Levesque says "The day of developmental being a career choice is over," because it's unfair to the talent, so they'll give him a bit more time to see if he's progressing. If he is, and isn't just being carried by someone else, he'll stick around.

* The "S-A-W-F-T SAWFT!" promo that ends the short, with the narration explaining that Cassady's physical transformation (he gained 30 pounds including a lot of muscle) and the further development of his team with Enzo Amore made him a major player in NXT, keeping WWE from "cutting bait" on him.
