Sheamus Talks About His Horrible Tryout Match With Dolph Ziggler, Who Gave Him Advice

Sheamus appeared on Talk is Jericho this week, and spoke about his career and journey to WWE. He mentioned that he had a miserable tryout with a seemingly unlikely candidate, Dolph Ziggler.

In fall 2005, Sheamus was getting his second tryout with the company. He said that Finlay was already in the company and wanted to make a good impression. He was matched up with Dolph Ziggler, then known by his real name, Nic Nemeth.

"Of all people, I had a tryout with Dolph Ziggler," Sheamus said. "The match was a disaster. Dolph had only been in the ring like three months and he's brought up as a caddy for Chavo Guerrero."

Sheamus said that despite the horrible match, the two laugh about it today. Finlay was supposed to be giving him tips on the match, but Sheamus said he was a little worried that wouldn't happen.

"Finlay was talking about his favorite Jack Daniels drinks with Torrie Wilson," Sheamus said while laughing. "I'm there and that's all I'm hearing in the back of my head. He gave me advice and things to work on."
