Matt Hardy Speaks Out About TNA Pay Reports, Why There Were So Many Checks In His Tweet

After rumors of TNA being behind on paying some of their talent last week, Matt Hardy tweeted a photo of several of his checks which presumably arrived on time. Since the rumor, information surfaced that checks were sent out, but still garnered a lot of attention.

I had the chance to speak with Matt Hardy about the tweet and the rumored situation.

"As I've gotten older and learned from my failures and successes, the only thing I can speak to is myself and Jeff, and we've been absolutely fine. Someone said that people were complaining about checks being late, and mine hadn't been late," Hardy said.

Regarding his tweet, which you can see at the bottom of the page, Hardy said that he simply had good timing, as several of his checks were due near the same time.

"It happened to be at a point where I signed my deal for April, I had a lot of checks from TNA at once," said Hardy. "I had a monthly fee, a per-match fee, a royalty fee, and then I have other things in my contract. It wasn't back pay, it was just all the checks coming in at one time."

Hardy also said that despite the rumors, he hasn't been hearing complaints nor has he experienced the issues first hand.

"If someone did get their pay late, that may have happened, I don't know. I don't hear a lot of complaints about money, but all I can speak about it myself. If someone has an issue with pay, I feel like it needs to be directed to the office and handled there. It sucks and it's unfortunate that a story like that spreads and puts a stain on Impact Wrestling, who are doing a lot of positive things right now. TNA has been extraordinary to me, nothing but professional. They even gave me time off at the last TV tapings to fulfill a commitment I had for 8 months, when they needed me at TV. That shows how professional they were to the boys. It's nowhere near as bad as what people are saying," said Hardy.

We'll have more of our interview with Matt Hardy later this week.
