Singh joined WWE in January 2006, becoming the first Indian professional wrestler to be signed to a contract by the organization. He debuted on the main roster that April alongside Daivari and would later have alliances with Ranjin Singh and Jinder Mahal. However, he spent most of his career as a singles competitor and in 2007 he became the World Heavyweight Champion by winning a battle royal after then-champion Edge suffered an injury.
