Anderson Silva Breaks His Silence, UFC Announcer Pulled From NFL Game, Ronda Rousey Update

- Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva talked with the media for the first time since his devastating broken leg last December during a press conference Tuesday. "The Spider" met with reporters while in his native country of Brazil, and you can see a replay of the event in the video above.

Silva (33-6) is set to return to action this January against Nick Diaz in the main event of UFC 183. The bout is scheduled for Las Vegas on January 31.

"I believe, on fight night, I will be 100-percent" Silva said.

Unlike many past media-obligated appearances by Silva, he was in a lighter mood, joking with reporters and seemingly having fun. His doctor who worked on his broken leg was also in attendance.

- Mike Goldberg, the veteran voice of the UFC, has been removed from the upcoming Minnesota Vikings-Buffalo Bills game after making his debut on FOX this past weekend. Goldberg was attacked on Twitter for his mistakes, firing back with an expletive.

The Bills PR Twitter account posted that Tim Brando will be working with Brendon Ayanbadejo and Peter Schrager for the game. Goldberg was in the lead announcer role with those two last week for the Vikings-Detroit Lions contest.

- Ronda Rousey remains hopeful that she will be added to the January UFC 182 card as the co-main event to Jon Jones-Daniel Cormier for the light heavyweight title. The UFC female bantamweight champion told Bruce Buffer on his podcast recently that nothing has been signed.

"I hope January 3 we'll be able to fight," Rousey said (thanks to MMAjunkie.com for the quotes). "It's still up in the air a little bit. We'll see how she's feeling after her last fight."

Rousey was referring to No. 1 contender Cat Zingano, who returned from a year-plus layoff to defeat Amanda Nunes last month.
