Former Bellator Champ's UFC Debut Set, Daniel Cormier Mocks Jon Jones For Recent Comment

- Eddie Alvarez will make his long-awaited UFC debut next month against Donald Cerrone at UFC 178. Shortly after Bellator MMA announced that they had released the then-lightweight champion from his contract, Alvarez had agreed to a new deal with the UFC.

Back in 2012, Alvarez and the UFC appeared to be set to sign an agreement. However, Bellator held the right to match and they did, prompting a lengthy legal battle between the two sides. Alvarez eventually returned to Bellator and won the title, defeating Michael Chandler.

Alvarez (25-3) posted a 9-1 record all-time with Bellator, losing only to Chandler for the belt. Cerrone (24-6) carries a four-fight win streak with him into the September 27 event. "Cowboy" was originally scheduled to face Bobby Green at the card.

- Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones might not be seeing each other for several months, but that doesn't mean the war of words has stopped. The two will meet in January at UFC 182 for Jones' light heavyweight title.

During an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Jones mocked Cormier for his finish at the Summer Olympics. Well, despite taking a while, "DC" has answered back in the form of a Twitter post – complete with picture.
