SmackDown Review: How A Big Show/Seth Rollins Feud Would Fit Perfectly In The Grand Scheme

This past Monday on Raw, Seth Rollins shocked the WWE Universe by turning on his fellow Shield members, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, dissolving the group in the process. This was Triple H's "Plan B" after Evolution member Batista quit the group and the company as a result of receiving empty promises since the day he returned in January.

On SmackDown, Seth Rollins was very vague in his explanation of why he aligned himself with Triple H and Randy Orton. Seemingly, this could be one of three options: 1) Somehow, this is part of a grand plan to rid the WWE of all things Evolution (highly unlikely), 2) It creates a cliffhanger for the reasoning to be revealed on the more popular Raw show (fairly likely), or 3) Creative just does not have an inked-in storyline yet from this turn that was just introduced to them on Sunday (highly likely).

As of now, it seems like the Big Show will be the first casualty of the Rollins turn. While many believe that Big Show is not a strong asset for the WWE anymore, this is actually a good idea if Creative goes forward with this feud.

At this point, Rollins needs to look as dominate as possible, seeing how he is more natural as a babyface, and is basically WWE's Jeff Hardy 2.0 in regards to style and pops. Moreover, he has the opportunity to outshine the particular type of fan support garnered by Jeff Hardy, due to him be a better wrestler, and better on the mic than Hardy. Placing him in a feud with Big Show would allow Rollins to defeat the giant, and gain points leading to his feud with the two "brothers" that he turned his back on.

On the road to SummerSlam, the PPVs left are Money in the Bank and Battleground. Putting Rollins in the MITB match would make absolutely no sense, seeing how he is not championship material yet, and a loss would hurt his heel push. This would be a great time to put him in a match with the Big Show.

Keep Reigns and Ambrose off the air until the PPV. After Rollins defeats Big Show, have him and Orton continue to attack Show. Then, Reigns and Ambrose returns, causes Orton and Rollins to retreat, and sets up a tag team match of Reigns/Ambrose vs. Rollins/Orton at Battleground. At SummerSlam, it should be Rollins vs. Ambrose, Reigns vs. HHH, and the original WrestleMania XXX match of a returning Batista vs. Orton.

Take some time to build and extend this Rollins turn. Just having Rollins go over Ambrose at MITB would both hurt Ambrose, and expedite a feud that could really give all three former members of the Shield an opportunity to shine. Having both Reigns and Ambrose sell those brutal chairshots would make the potency of Rollins' turn even stronger, as well as their return more exciting.
