WWE Names 10 Stars Who Were Ahead Of Their Time, Renee Young On Her SmackDown Debut
- The official WWE website has posted an article listing ten wrestlers who were "ahead of their time." This list includes Dynamite Kid, Gorgeous George, Brian Pillman, Nick Bockwinkel, Bad News Brown, Goldust, Sabu, "Superstar" Billy Graham, Raven and Antonino Rocca.
WWE compares Pillman to CM Punk, stating, "Before CM Punk broke the fourth wall with his unforgettable "pipe bomb" tirade in June 2011, Pillman regularly cast his wild eyes right at the camera's lens and unleashed bold messages that captured the unbridled emotion of The Attitude Era. Despite Pillman's relatively short career, his body of work ? including rivalries that took deeply personal turns ? continues to influence a new generation of performers."
- Former WWE Superstar Vader has been announced to appear at the "Wrestling Spectacular 1" taking place May 18 at the Middletown Market 128 Dolson Ave. Middletown, New York.
- Renee Young, who hosts various minor shows for WWE, made her SmackDown debut on tonight's show in a backstage segment interviewing Randy Orton, Sheamus and Big Show. Reacting to her debut, she wrote on Twitter: "Wow!! Seriously, thanks for all the tweets about making my debut on #Smackdown. Very cool! Let's all hug in a totally friend-zone kinda way."
