Source: The Hollywood ReporterWe noted in January that former WWE Superstar Dave Bautista was in talks to play "Drax The Destroyer" in Marvel Studios' Guardians Of The Galaxy feature film. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Bautista is now signed for the role. Isaiah Mustafa, Brian Patrick Wade and and Jason Momoa were in contention for the part.
James Gunn (Movie 43, Super) is attached to direct the project, and Chris Pratt (Zero Dark Thirty, Movie 43) is also set to star in the film. The movie is currently scheduled to be released in the summer of 2014.
Batista will also appear in Chronicles of Riddick 2, which stars Vin Diesel and will release on September 6.
