WWE Live Event Results From Green Bay, WI (12/27) - Noble Returns, Big Show Vs. Sheamus
Thanks to WrestlingINC.com reader Jeremy Backman (@jbacks21) for sending in these results from last night's SmackDown live event from the Resch Center in Green Bay, WI:
Matt Striker was the ring announcer and opened the show. Striker said that there were a bunch of good matches tonight, including a steel cage match, and we were kicking off the evening with a battle royal with the winner facing Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston and Wade Barrett in a triple threat match for the title. The participants were: Michael McGillicutty, Alex Riley, Jinder Mahal, Heath Slater, Drew McIntyre, Tyson Kidd, Justin Gabriel, Primo, Epico, and Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio won the match to get the title shot later tonight.
Layla & Alicia Fox defeated Aksana and Tamina after Layla nailed Aksana with a neckbreaker.
Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Jamie Noble returned to face Fandango. Fandango got lots of heat, but won the match. After the match, Fandango danced with a girl that came from backstage as the crowd booed.
Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel defeated Drew McIntyre and Heath Slater. Gabriel and Kidd got a big pop from the crowd.
Kofi Kingston defeated Wade Barrett and Alberto Del Rio in a triple threat match for the Intercontinental title after Kofi pinned Barrett with the Trouble In Paradise.
The Great Khali & Hornswoggle defeated Epico & Primo after Khali hit his finisher and Hornswoggle hit a tadpole splash. After the match, Epico and Primo argued, but Rosa Mendes forced them to shake hands and hug. Matt Striker took the mic and said that since they lost, they had to sing Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. The crowd booed loudly.
Alex Riley defeated Michael McGillicutty. The crowd was all for Riley, but went quiet during the match. McGillicutty said he was a Vikings fan because Donald Driver was in the crowd.
World Heavyweight Champion The Big Show defeated Sheamus in a steel cage match. Big Show got a good pop, but Sheamus got an enormous one. At the end of the match, Sheamus kicked out of a chokeslam and tried to climb over the cage, but Big Show pulled him down and nailed him with the WMD. Show then slowly crawled out of the cage to win. The crowd gave Show respect and cheered him after the match. Show then grabbed a chair and went back in the cage, and Sheamus reversed it and nailed Show with a Brogue kick to send the fans home happy. Sheamus left the ring and high-fived and took pictures with kids as the show ended.
